Obama pointed out that immigration has declined in the past year (because of the economy--a fact we all knew), implying that it was because his administration has made progress on securing the border. I forget what phrasing he used, but he pointed out that the numbers were down despite what lies and misinformation anyone who disagrees with him was spreading. I thought this was weird, not only because I hadn't heard any lies of misinformation concerning the decrease in immigration this year (of which I was already aware), but because Obama was in his statement misleading his listeners by implying that he had anything to do with the decrease. He made no mention of economic or any other factors which led to this decrease. As far as his listeners heard from him, he did it.
