And why not?
Well I certainly appreciate your co-operation.
I would call myself a LOTR fan... to an extent
that movie was long and boring ...

Skywarp, good on you, I am glad I'm not the only one.

all the lotr fans are looking at an image of gollum and wanking.
Um... I think I'll pass on that highly tempting offer.
it wasn't an offer. it was a fact of life.

Isn't Quenya just a Nordic language with all the complicated crap removed?
It may have been but Quenya was also supposed to be one of the languages of the elves, though I did think that it was fictitious...
I'm reading the book as we speak I've just passed the elven town after moria. I like the book but the movies are not about the same thing.
The book is about the quest. The movie also but more about the battles and the wonders of that world.

And hot Elves.
I think that counts ans wonders

I wouldn't go as far as calling myself a big fan. I read the book, and I liked it..
I don't like The Hobbit much though....
What I do love is the tragic story of the Silmarillion, wich is imo more beautiful then Lord Of The Rings..
I SAID WFS IS A BIG FAN

Basically, if any book contains Elvish poetry (or is that Elven? I have no idea), I can't stand reading it.
I forced myself to read the Lord of the Rings trilogy a few years back, and watched the movies when they came out, but despite being a classic of literature it is not one of my favourite books. I read The Hobbit when I was younger, but I gave up on the Silmarillion about ten pages in.
Damn Elves.
I revoked my fandom after sitting through a Lord of the Rings marathon. Now my sole purpose in life is to murder Hobbits whenever and wherever I can.
my name does not come from lotr.. It really doesn't... *hides*
