Topic: Apple Tablet vs Microsoft Courier

Hi

I want to know your opinion about these 2 products.

They are both very new, and the newest of the newest in technology and comming out soon.

First, The microsoft courier.
Here is a video of it.

I like how it looks like, how it works. Only thing i dont like is that there aint a option to ''type'' on a keyboard like screen. it seems you need to ''write'' with a pen on your screen. I got that option on my telephone and it aint working good.  infact i have yet to make a word on it that makes sence. My writing is terrible to look at so how does the courier know what i mean.

The apple Tablet:

Apple is to me, quality, Very expensive stuff. Itunes that demands 50% of my CPU power. and when i shut it down running on the background, still demanding 50% cpu power. when i shutdown my pc it gives errors about itunes.

The Tablet looks like a big Ipod touch, it looks nice aswell and has a ''keyboard'' in it.

If you we're to buy one of these products, which one would it be?

Re: Apple Tablet vs Microsoft Courier

Microsoft products are filled with too many features and get complicated. Microsoft products tend to get slowed down to a crawl after a while because of widespread bloatware like iTunes and Adobe Reader. That being said I'd expect Microsoft's product to be cheaper.

Apple has it's problems. iTunes is designed to torture it's users by constantly running several background auto update processes that slow the entire system down. I hate it almost as much as I hate adobe reader. Also If the same memory management techniques that are used on the iPhone and iTouch then I wouldn't have high hopes for the Apple Tablet. If it doesn't have a swap space or applications don't get a guaranteed amount of ram than expect a lot of applications crashing. Well from a developer's standpoint they don't really crash. The system kills them to free up memory for it's cached safari pages that you closed 36 hours ago ( no joke 99.9% of crashes on iPhone and iTouch are because safari and Music player and Mail still use huge amounts of memory long after you've closed them)

You know what neither of those would be upgradable after purchase. They'd both cost a lot of money. They'd likely be very fragile. They'd both be very annoying to use. Screw them both and buy a desktop.

The core joke of Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is that of course no civilization would develop personal computers with instant remote database recovery, and then waste this technology to find good drinks.
Steve Jobs has ruined this joke.

I think they will be expensive aswell. Apple products are always expensive.
Microsoft products are usualy cheaper then apple their products.

I dont know if they would be annoying to use, i guess its just getting used to.
Already got a desktop, this could be a nice toy for in the train or somewhere else.

Since the Microsoft Courier has 2 screens i think watching a movie wont be possible or only on 1 of the screens.
I like to watch movies when im sitting in the train.

Re: Apple Tablet vs Microsoft Courier

after getting a 42" 1080p tv, surround sound and watching movies on blue ray from like 5 feet from the tv, i cant go back to watching movies on tiny screens tongue

i would think a netbook would probably be a better choice, probably cheaper then at least the mac,  probably a larger hard drive so you can store more movies in it, built in keyboard, probably longer battery life, yet very tiny and light.

im personally not bothering with anything super mobile yet, once those fancy cell phones start getting enough power to do everything but gaming, i'll invest in one of those; the ultimate in transportability.

Re: Apple Tablet vs Microsoft Courier

Im very happy with my ipod touch.

And i am not bothered watching movies on the small screen.

Re: Apple Tablet vs Microsoft Courier

Buy a non-apple $1,000 laptop. You can get some pretty good deals these days - 4GB of ram,
320GB hdd, dual core, Blu-ray, camera, and all the other bits and pieces.

Do you know what the chain of command is here? It's the chain I go get and beat you with to show you who's in command.

Re: Apple Tablet vs Microsoft Courier

I dont want just a other laptop.

I want something special, these 2 products are special because no one has them yet.

Not many people know this, but I own the first radio in Springfield. Not much on the air then, just Edison reciting the alphabet over and over. "A" he'd say; then "B." "C" would usually follow...

Re: Apple Tablet vs Microsoft Courier

hmmm, well if you're looking for something special, that is gonna look "cool" the mac is probably the better choice. microsoft doesnt typically cater to the "im a cool individual by being a tool of the marketing department of a company and being willing to spend more to get what this company tells me expresses my individuality because im insecure and need a company to find my individuality for me" group.
