It's not an alert level X( they are in phases (we noticed this yesterday and were angered)

basically
phase 1 = o look, shes coughing
phase 2 = o look, a few people are coughing
phase 3 = o look, a bunch of people are coughing, and that one girl died!
phase 4 = omg even more people are coughing, and a few people died, and look, its in multiple countries!
phase 5 = holy shit a bunch of people are dying, and this thing is popping up everywhere
phase 6 = omg omg omg omg omg, people in mexico are dying, there are over 100 cases in the united states, its popping up all over the world, we need to start shutting shit down. mexico, no more professional soccer (or football) for you! in the us we're gonna start shutting down random shit! Madagascar, cut off all contact from the world! (this phase is the peak, if the world is going to end, it will occur here, so theoretically we are experiencing a potential world ending disease)

well, msn.com said we were at "alert level 5" yesterday, and when i clicked the link to see what scale the alert system was, i was informed that they were in fact phases, not alerts at all

No it's spread but no one has died anywhere else yet. Though in my opinion if it was gonna wipe out civilisation a lot more mexicans would have died by now, disease attacks the weak first and if only 150 or so have died then thats the answer. If you looked into it the majority were probably elderly or young childeren. Real "end of the world" disease death tolls tend to jump from one or two cases to thousands within a week. That flu in the thirties happened like that.

This Mexican flu is really very mexican; it's not doing anything except migrating to other countries and reproducing.

Duh, it's called swine flu cause the first person to contract it was a pork barrel democrat (Swine spending swine) and therefore thats how it got it's name

its no worse than regular flu! just spreads alot faster, in fact some reports even sound thats ist less lethal the regular flu.
only weak people can die from it, like regular flu.
