Re: American Voters this past Presidential Election.....question ?

1. I voted for ALAN KEYES!!

2.  Yes because I kept my honor, I didn't succumb to the WHORES who agreed with me that McCain was awful but said I had no right to my own integrity when the alternative was Obama
(I can accept if you thought Mccain was the One--all 12 of you--we can agree to disagree. I'm talking the THOUSANDS who called McCain the "lesser evil" and said, ok, so what?)

Re: American Voters this past Presidential Election.....question ?

1. McCain

2. Yeah.  I think elections force compromise.  I may not agree with McCain 100%, but it becomes an issue not of whether an individual personally kept to their moral standards, but whether their moral standards are best for the nation.

Like it or not, compromise is the name of the game in democracy.  Otherwise, we devolve into totalitarianism.

Re: American Voters this past Presidential Election.....question ?

1. the guy from the libertarian party, i dont remember his name

2. sure. i didnt want like either major candidate and wanted to promote a third party. also, it wasnt close in my state, so my vote had no impact on who won, so cant blame me for Obama winning my state.

Re: American Voters this past Presidential Election.....question ?

You want a democractic country, and then bitch and moan about who you elect?

Why don't you actually contribute ... I'm sure you would be able to. Hell, become a politician yourself if its that easy. You said you were going to give Obama a fair chance right? I've heard nothing but bitching and moaning since day 1...

He got a fair chance, and he used it to screw up. And now I am contributing by hollering about his screwups, encouraging Congress to thwart future excesses. Nobody is entitled to national peace. Nobody is entitled to national unity. Remember, dissent is the highest form of patriotism!

can you wait for nationalized healthcare? the government is gonna tell us when to die. and if we want to live long lives, we have to live our lives how the government wants us to live them, or they will refuse us care when we are sick with treatable illnesses.

Re: American Voters this past Presidential Election.....question ?

Yeah Specter and Daschle have both openly said a big problem is old people fighting too hard, it costs so much

Re: American Voters this past Presidential Election.....question ?

you grow up during Bush and you hear all these horror stories from conservatives of liberals and you think its like the boogy man, just fiction; but one gets elected to president, and its exactly that bad. trillions spent on nothing, even democratic economists saying they havent seen a President destroy this much wealth, ever. movements to nationalize healthcare and raise taxes of everyone who pays for utilities or gas for their car.

Re: American Voters this past Presidential Election.....question ?

The military is the most effective government organization.

If we want anything done, do you not see how we need to give power to the military, BW?

Yup, that's exactly the point tongue

I don't know lad, but countries with a nationalized healthcare are usually doing (in statistics) better than those without...

God: Behold ye angels, I have created the ass.. Throughout the ages to come men and women shall grab hold of these and shout my name...

Re: American Voters this past Presidential Election.....question ?

The military is often as inefficient as any other bureaucracy, Justinian I.

Yes they're "doing better" than countries without, Wild Flower Soul. That's why their inhabitants speak of "escaping" their healthcare system for foreign [superior] care, ie. British and Canadians.

[I wish I could obey forum rules]

Re: American Voters this past Presidential Election.....question ?

No..... the Military is not about efficiency.

The Military is about having the best..... no matter what the cost.

You dont look at the price tag of the best fighter possible..... F-22 Raptor,  You say how much, and how many can we afford.

Lets not compare apples and oranges here.

@ Justinian.....isnt that just the other extreme of what OBAMA is trying to do ??
Im mean, philosophically speaking......the Military answerers to Military law.....yes the American Military has the finest legal system ever.....because of the US Constitution and the protections it affords the civilian.

after all, It was military justice model that is now used in civilian police arrest/detainment/arraignment,...etc.

Basic rights afforded military offenders, now are given to civilians......this is all based in the constitution.

So, w/the proper justice oversight and civilian monitoring......sure the Military can run the country a HELL of lot better than the Leftists.....

BUT.... Justinian.... I give this to you...

Doesnt the American Military have a strong Judeo/Christian, are deeply conservative, and have an unforgiving loyalty to Country and the US Constitution ??

IF THIS faith, and love of country, and devotion to the Purity of the Constitution can only be just as deep in the leftists that now permeate the Civilian Govt.

Leftists are dangerous.  They are driven by power of the elite over the masses.
They disinform and demonize and separate using envy.......until there is no power left for the masses.

Look at what leftists have done to many Govts .... well meaning individuals, that let those drunk w/power into the circle.

3.  Who did you like in the US Election ??
Obama.

4.  Are you happy with the outcome ??   If No, why ?
Yes, in the sense that you can't judge a president on 2 months of work. Considering the current financial climate, these are probably the hardest years to be president since hoover/roosevelt. Obama has no choice to invest money in the economy, and he's gonna have to get the money elsewhere.
I am absolutely convinced McCain wouldn't have done better. Give Obama the rest of his term to do his thing, and we'll evaluate after that. You're president in blocks of 4 years, not 2 months.

Re: American Voters this past Presidential Election.....question ?

Kemp,

Hehe, I'm sure they have their red tape. I heard about cars and trucks not accounted for by supply dug up in the ground on base property, because it was cheaper and demanded less effort than modifying the inventory. Nonetheless, as BW implies, the military gets the job done.

BW,

Well having a "conservative" base in the sense of self-reliance, discipline and cohesion and such, is an essential component of a strong country or organization. Liberal "nanny state" crap removes incentives to be productive and increases the number of parasites who mooch off of the state... I call it economic conservatism. But then there's religious conservatism, which I am just not very fond of.

I see the military as having very high economic conservative values, and this is essential to its success. While it's also religiously conservative as well, I don't see it as essential to their success. Many who were weak religiously, for example, were very powerful and influential leaders because of their economically conservative outlook.

I imagine it's also true that the military is entrenched in its commitment to the constitution. But I would hope that any person patriotic and loyal to their country would forsake the constitution if it were necessary to save their country from ruin. Don't you think it's messed up to say "yeah I know Rome is burning, but... this document I swore an oath to explicitly states that I shall not intervene."

Re: American Voters this past Presidential Election.....question ?

The government bailing out banks,is that nanny state crap too,or does it only apply to poor people?
