iron who? maiden? wtf isnt that like a World of Warcraft boss?
....i saw them at donnington....you have to admire them for their stage show and audience participation and some of their work is iconic....have fun man ![]()
A Matter Of Life And Death!
I was thoroughly impressed. Despite the crappy sound their show was awesome, excellent Eddy, mad Pyrotechnics.
People were passing out in the moshpit..
My necks still sore three days later, I had fun. Was even slightly better than W.A.S.P I dare say..
And as all True Metallers know: It's not a real Mosh Pit unless there's blood.
And there was.
Artists in Turkey always tell people to chill in mosh pits cuz a couple of people died
Guess we have different views on mosh pits ![]()
Around here, as soon as someone appears to fall down or get seriously hurt, people help them to get out, rather than go for blood.
But good to see you enjoyed the show. I'm not a huge Maiden fan, but their show still ranks among the best concerts I've been to in my life.
Lol, no, people do get helped out if they fall etc. its the stray elbows and hands that cause the blood, or shoes.
Mosh pits are places where people fake being into the music because they're too socially uncomfortable to do anything but fake freaking out. They're a unique place in the universe where fat people rule.
Few concerts I've been to, I've seen people wearing chainmail ;/
How cunningly evil... yet preferable over people who are wearing no shirt at all!
I went to a Motorhead concert a few years ago. I was 18 in a moshpit filled with MEN (balding, black leather, 2ft beards, ~100kg). Crrrrazy stuff
.

Fake being into the music? I go because i'm into the music..
Its good to see the old guys still going hard isn't it? They might have even seen Motorhead back in the 70's or 80's when they were our age ish. And thats cool.
They're dangerous enough outside moshpits. Them stingy gits.
Iron Maiden! Still going, fantastic!
I went to see the Stranglers a few months ago, absolutely awesome!
Old stuff is always the best.
Nearly got into a fight with an ageing, drunk rocker.
I've always considered mosh pits for punk (or related genres) gigs, not really for metal (or anything else)...
I remember some arsehole trying to start a mosh pit during a Mogwai gig a few years ago on the Werchter festival, but got punched in the face from a viking type giant early on, so it was quickly over..
Mosh pits, why not? It has to fit the music though, and well away from where I'm standing. If frustrated lads want to punch eachother, let them, but far away from people who don't want to get involved ![]()
I;ve been in a mosh or 2. I got kicked out of a concert one time because it got a little rough and we were bleeding everywhere.
Funny thing is, it was when Serj Tankian came to the Roxy in ATL.
Had no idea you could mosh 2 some of his songs, but they got pretty intense. Was a really good show.
And i've always wanted 2 see maiden, but i can never find dates in the US. I don't look that hard, but when i do, they've usually left.
....the most brutal pits i have been in were:
1, Biohazard - Tivoli in Buckley (North Wales) - was knocked out for @1hr!
2, Sepulatura - Academy in Brixton (London UK) - bruised ribs, cut face, dislocated finger
3, Slayer - Donnington in Derbyshire (UK) - dehydration, whiplash (out of action for @6wks!)
4, Machine Head - Academy in Brixton (London UK) - bruises on face, arms, legs and torso in general
5, Fear Factory - Donnington in Derbyshire (UK) - jarred spine due to awkward landing, dehydration, lost a tooth
6, Carcass - Tivoli in Buckley (North Wales) - after getting home i was unconcious for two days!
7, Coal Chamber - Donnington in Derbyshire (UK) - whiplash & blackeye
....there are a lot more but i am usually of my face so memory is an issue ![]()
....The lamest pits were :
1, Napalm Death - Bloodstock in derbyshire (UK) - absolutley gutted about that one....damn ![]()
2, Kreator - Koko in camden (UK) - small "breakouts" but never lasted long enough
3, Soulfly - Bloodstock in derbyshire (UK) - i think it is because there were loads of kids there
4, Arch Enemy - Academy in Brixton (London UK) - and i thought the pits would be like Carcass
....i enjoy pits as they allow the most primal of instincts to surface and for a brief time you feel truly alive and united with your fellow moshers, i have enjoyed several gigs without pits though....i am not an animal....but when you get home after a truly insane pit, service the missus, enjoy a spilff (or three) and some nice cold Jagermeister, whilst relaxing in a bath....aaaah....that is what heaven is like to me....niiiiice ![]()
