I don't know if anyone else has this problem but quite frankly this forum sux X(
yea i want old one back this sucks not being able to talk to allies and edit others posts and stuff.

i miss GC and not being able to sticky threads and just delete anything is really pissing me off
well tbh, GC was pretty pointless. but all the rest is a pain

A very important feature got lost!!!
I would say IC lost about 30%-50% of its fun factor only because you cannot read and post ally forums anymore... and why should somebody play a game which isnt fun to play???
as well how an alliance will organize stuff without a common forum. just think of common exploration thread and so on... as well with the possibility to read the ally forum, you really could "feel" the alliance... right now its more an alliance on paper... no emotions!!! how sad
So please, bring back the old forum!!!
who said anything about the old forum... the old forum was good yes, but lets be honest its not going to be back after what happened... we dont want the old forum, we want a forum that works how we need it to, not some half assed thing to post on...
i can't imagine what a fam would do if they had a rogue who wanted to spam ther fam forums... imagine looking at your forums having 500 pages and nothing you can do about it... and technically the mods cant really ban someone for posting in ther fam forum... but they might consider under these circumstances ?
point is, we want something sufficient that works...

The only solution is for alliances to host their own private forums.

I agree with static, we dont really need the old one back, however we need a forum that has the features that are needed... like reading and posting ally forum and deleting and editing threads and posts more easily...
I quite agree, I think a delete post feature is need as at the moment we are going to end up with millions of posts. Also the use of posting ally forums helps with the strategy part of the game and not to mention the comedy factor.

Oh, fun: forum software bashing! I might as well post, since I'm one of the developers of PunBB (the forum software we're using).
People who say the forum sucks (the list was too long for me to write out all your names ): Blame Stefan for doing a bad job integrating the forum, or for not patching the hole and putting the old forums back up. The forum software itself is good and sound.
Static: Mods can deal with spam in family forums. That doesn't mean they will on a regular basis, but in extreme cases it would be silly for them not to.
n00dl3: I actually run a site that does free forum hosting, http://www.punbb-hosting.com, that people are welcome to use (I'll even turn off ads like I did for the IC external forum if you send me the forum name on IRC).
Humidity: No. They're not. If you disagree, prove it.
Oh, and this certainly beats the IC forum in one area: subscriptions. I never have to worry about remembering which topics I posted in ever again.
stickies are important, plus administration of the forums, its very difficult to persuade inactive members that have posted threads to delete them -_-

what about this:
We get a new forum mod or two who go trough the families every day or few days and give the current leader moderation rights to their specific family forum (right to delete posts of other players would already be sufficient). Then atleast the worst thing is solved. Another way would be a thread on GC where you can ask to get your fam checked and leader given moderation rights.
Ally forums may be fun but is not essential if you are active and got outside communication devices.
GC, seriously, thats probably the least important thing to solve in the game right now.
Be happy you got secure forums back and let smartys and the others do their work, its surely a hard task if you're not the admin of the game (and the admin not being really active)...
