To this day I still consider Vista to be a joke.
I wasn't one of those taken in by the shiny graphics and flashy bits. If I want poor and disappointing flashy bits I'll go to the man on the corner of the road wearing a long rain coat over his birthday suit. Unfortunately though, the underlying operating system was bloated and, well, frankly crap. I evaluated Vista about 10 months ago using a friend's copy and really got fed up of it quite quickly. One of the things that *really* made me laugh was how some of the "widgets" and other flashy stuff was taken directly from Ubuntu Linux, yet looked like it had been implemented by a six-year-old. So instead I wiped Vista and went back to dual booting with Windows XP and Ubuntu.
I really hope Windows 7 will be a big improvement on Vista, but I'm not holding my breath.
To those who understand I extend my hand; To the doubtful I demand to take me as I am.
