Topic: The Xeno Syndicate: The Overlord Continuum

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Chapter 1
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Early in universal year 1 of the 78th revolution of the universe, the exact date of which remains unknown, the Xeno Syndicate established a colony in the Fegekitan system of the Pinwheel Galaxy.

Having arrived in the galaxy relatively late from the collapse of the 77th revolution, the Fegekitan system was already home to factions of predominantly hybrid races, along with some partaxian and camaar colonies.

Many revolutions of the universe ago, the xeno of the Xeno Syndicate had themselves once been a hybrid mortal race, known at that time simply as xenobards.  They had since evolved to be ageless and had joined the ranks of the immortal overlords.  Like most overlord beings, they had taken to enslaving mortal races to conduct their conquests for control of the universe, using mass-hypnotism technology against all forms of mortal beings from wardancer to revalon and any combination of hybrid races that might suit their purposes.

But here in the pinwheel galaxy of this revolution of the universe, the Xeno established not a slave colony but an actual outpost of the intergalactic Xeno Syndicate itself.  Their intention was not to enslave the unwilling, but, rather, to offer immortality in exchange for those hybrids who would give up their freedom willingly.  Those who had evolved valuable physical and mental abilities suited for furthering Xeno Syndicate objectives would be selected.  In exchange for their voluntarily submission to the xeno-hypnotism, and if they survived their period of duty to the Xeno Syndicate, they could potentially live forever afterward as an immortal, ascended overlord.

It was a new approach for the Xeno Syndicate to implement, an approach that was expected to attract only the most willing, most proficient slaves, an approach that was expected to produce more useful and more thoroughly obedient subjects than those who might be enslaved unwillingly.

Chapter 2
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In past revolutions of the universe, to the xeno overlords' annoyance, wherever they had established an outpost, populations of migrant mortal beings would congregate.  Populations of partaxian refugees, camaar outcasts, revalon traders, or wardancer mercenaries, and every imaginable sort of miscreant hybrid would establish themselves in the vicinity of Xeno Syndicate portals, and even in the vicinity where Xeno Syndicate portals were expected to be constructed.  Whether it was upon a planetary surface, within an asteroid, hovering within the atmosphere of a gas giant, nebulae,  or even a star itself, within a universal week, mortal beings would build their habitats, construction yards, space stations, star ships, and begin to conduct trade.

This time during the 78th revolution was little different.  Upon the 5th planet of the Fegekitan system, there arose within a universal week a city around the newly constructed Xeno Syndicate outpost portal in the Fegekitan system.  A tower was manifested by the communal xeno overlord mind into to be an object of worship: a monolith atop which shone a giant sphere of light - the tear in space-time that would allow instantaneous travel between it and other Xeno Syndicate outposts in other space-time continuums.

As each generation of mortals who established themselves lived and died their short insignificant lives, a homogeneous hybrid race formed, the Xeno Syndicate implementing a strict eugenics program to manipulate it to ensure there would be ample candidates to be selected for the Xeno Syndicate.   The Syndicate desired a strong military presence in the Pinwheel galaxy of this universal revolution, and so only those hybrids with physical prowess and those susceptible to hypnotic coercion were permitted to bread.

Within a single universal year, a population of 1,000,000 suitable mortals had been bred - a sufficient amount for their purposes, for the Xeno Syndicate would use droids almost exclusively in their military endeavors.

By universal year 2 of the 77th universal revolution, the Xeno Syndicate outpost had become saturated with settlements of highly proficient hybrid mortals.  The xeno overlords extended released controls on the eugenics program, and, in fact, began to extend no social nor political support towards the hybrid population other than extending force-fields to encompass their settlements and prevent further migration to the colony.  The xeno mass-hypnotism machines were brought online, but the overlords left the mortals to their own devices for the most part, resulting in a society where anarchy ruled, where only the fittest survived, and where, due to the xeno overlords' neglect of social infrastructure such as food production, starvation and cannibalism were commonplace.

Out of this system of 'evolutionary refinement', as the overlords viewed it, the xeno would begin to recruit only the fittest survivors to serve.  In a society with so much suffering and death, it was viewed, the promise of immortality would prove to be highly motivating in recruiting willing slaves.

Chapter 3
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In week 20 of universal year 2, mutations within the hybrid gene-pool gave rise to beings with some telepathic proficiency.   The overlords recruited telepaths for communications, and contact with other telepathic sentient beings inhabiting the Fegekitan system was attempted.

Telepaths perceived the presence of a camaar mercenary faction known as the Humanity, named such for their claim to have destroyed the last remaining colony of ancient humans.  At first, the Humanity remained secretive and elusive as the Xeno Syndicate telepaths conducted their probes.  But, as soon as it was made clear that the Xeno Syndicate intended to cooperate with them, the Humanity made known to the Xeno Syndicate the extent to which the sentient beings of the Fegekitan were organized.

They formed what was known as Family 1508, and maintained a central telepathic beacon upon the third moon of the Humanity's home planet, through which every member state of Family 1508 maintained communications and held regular conferences on social-political, economic, and strategic matters.  The Xeno Syndicate was welcomed to join Family 1508, establish a continuous telepathic presence through the beacon, and begin its cooperative role as a full member state of 1508.

Family 1508 invested in building and sending exploration ships for the Xeno Syndicate, as had been expected by the xeno overlords.  Exploring 8 additional planets and building iron-ore mining facilities would suit the overlords' purposes for the time being.

Increasing iron-ore production was essential for the construction of droids with which the Xeno Syndicate would control the hybrids once they had evolved their telepathic and other proficiencies further.  Also, droids would be necessary for defending and occupying further planets in the future against enemy forces.

In addition, the Xeno Syndicate hybrid population had begun to evolve proficiencies suitable for conducting special operations, and, as such, Family 1508 invested in creating an extensive Xeno Syndicate special operative network, recruiting from the hybrids a number of agents to conduct covert field ops to gather information on potential enemy threats and aid in pre-invasion reconnaissance.

Chapter 4
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In week 40 of Universal year 2, ten senior Xeno Syndicate sleeper agents who had been dispatched to key galactic civilian nexuses throughout the Pinwheel used Family 1058 funds to recruit an additional 250 operatives for the Xeno Syndicate.  An infiltration of the Random Hero Empire of Family 1511 was conducted.  Their mission - to collect data on the Empire's recent activities.  Unfortunately, the merchant vessel hired to carry the 14 Xeno Syndicate agents dispatched to the target was destroyed by a Random Hero Empire operative - a suicide bomber who had been posing as a mid-level bridge communication officer aboard the merchant vessel.  All hands, including the 14 Xeno Syndicate agents, were killed.

In a second mission, 13 Xeno Syndicate agents posed as tourists aboard various inter-continental atmospheric civilian flights around planet 56,15:22 in an attempt to estimate the planet's laser-battery number.  They were detained by Random Hero Empire's airport security, and subsequently executed.  However, a second group of Xeno Syndicate Operations conducting the same reconnaissance mission was in fact able to detect 22 laser batteries and 222 Research Facilities on the planet and then safely exist the system to transmit their report.  It was an encouraging success in light of prior failed attempts.  However, future military success would necessitate further covert operation attempts and the Xeno Syndicate could not raise the necessary funds to recruit more agents quickly enough.

Luckily, Family 1508 was not alone in the Pinwheel Galaxy. Their allies, Family 1504, lead by the mysterious camaar faction known by some as the Evillscum and by others as Scumville or Cumsville, also conducted their own infiltrations of the Random Hero Empire, as well as other members of Family 1511.  As Family 1508 and Family 1504 had become allies, and as each family's telepathic communications beacon was thus aligned to the other, the summary reports on the infiltrations of Family 1511 members were perceived by Family 1508 telepaths.

The reports revealed that member states of Family 1511 were practicing a wealth-redistribution program through a centralized bank, that the Random Hero Empire was primarily a resource based economy that participated on the galactic market quite extensively.  The Random Hero Empire was also quite active militarily, having conducted attacks in the 60:31 and 60:29 systems.  But most importantly, during week 40 of universal year 2, it was determined by 1504 operatives that the Random Hero Empire's fleet only consisted of:

Bombers:     500
Fighters:    640
Transports:  28
Droids:      2060
Wizards:     200
Agents:      535
Explo Ships: 23

Likewise, the report indicated the Random Hero Empire planets generally had only 12 to 35 laser batteries constructed on each:

43,23:2: 25
54,13:16: 35
60,31:14: 12
60,29:10: 12
43,21:10: 14
56,15:22: 22

Family 1508 was grateful for their allies infiltration into members of Family 1511 intelligence networks and offered public statements congratulating the leader of the people of Hollow on their success.  Due to this information, coordinated attacks were expected to be launched against 1511 by both Family 1508 and 1504 - a coordinated effort aimed at establishing 1508 and 1504 strategic dominance in sector 2 of the galaxy.
