Re: Car/Computer Problem HELPP!!!

Try a CD+R.
Also, check if your car stereo actually supports MP3.

Re: Car/Computer Problem HELPP!!!

what burning software are you using? because if you are using an older version of Nero, on any Microsoft OS, it's quite possible that it didn't properly burn the CD. Also, if you're using the Microsoft/Windows Media or some other program, it didn't properly burn the CD. The type of CD has nothing to do with it playability, because they're all the same, only when you get into DVD's, the different dvd's make a difference in the reading of it.

are you 100% sure it's in .mp3 format and not in .wma audio format

Some stereos are not capable of utilizing the mp3 formant and will give you that sound. It's a way to prevent people from using burnt cd's

Re: Car/Computer Problem HELPP!!!

Search on your comp for Windows Audio Converter, if you have media center edition of xp it should be on there. I'm not sure otherwise. If not dl one somewhere. This will convert your MP3 to a standard cd format. It only takes about a min then you can burn the new formatted file onto any cd-r cd and it should work. As far as I know most car stereo's wont  support mp3 unless its a newer model.

Re: Car/Computer Problem HELPP!!!

lol....

or it might just be that gladiators car can only play a cd with 20 or less tracks on it, and under 80 mins of total play. My cars cd player is like that as well...

else you might have some dodgy codec protection thing, in which case your better getting some new burning software, nero and windows media player are usually good enough.

Re: Car/Computer Problem HELPP!!!

Try burning an actual audio CD first (WAV, etc).

Then try Mp3s, but burn it slower.

My parents car does the same sort of thing in that it wont play *SOME* burnt CDs. Maybe you should just get one of them USB-radio things that you put MP3s onto, and then tune your radio into its frequency...

Re: Car/Computer Problem HELPP!!!

ya an itrip is excellent especially if you already have an ipod.  personally i hate listening to an ipod or cd or anything like that.  its soooooo boring the only real reason i would listen to a CD or music on an ipod would be if i was incredibly bored already. even then there are better things to listen to

but ya itrip ...... works wonders.

Re: Car/Computer Problem HELPP!!!

all in all Gladiator

most newer cars will play mp3's. but it depends. it will usually SAY mp3 on the thing, whereas a regular cd player in a car will only play cd's that are burned with .wav files.

so you can put say, 140 or so songs on a cd under .mp3 or 18 songs under .wav

now, technically speaking, the 140 or so songs are considered to be FILES, whereas the 18 songs are considered to be SONGS. a cd player recognizes SONGS not FILES. a .wav file is 5 times (or more) the size of a .mp3 file tongue which is why you have to burn it as files in order for it to put so many songs on the cd.

understand?

that's my understanding of what you're saying and what my brother once told me about .mp3, .wav, .wma, .m4a and so on.

Re: Car/Computer Problem HELPP!!!

download Deepburner, totally free, totally idiot proof.  pop in a regular CD-R, choose "burn audio disc" drag and drop some mp3s in there (they convert automatically) then just burn, voila.

Re: Car/Computer Problem HELPP!!!

when you burn a cd which can take only 80 mins of audio, the format is usually wav, waveform audio file, which is similar to the old record players with their dips and hills ( same kind of incredibly inefficient system, but it includes sounds that are below 30hz and above 16k hz which mp3's can't reach ).

seriously, you can use some random program, but the absolute best is windows media player, just drag and drop a playlist onto a the picture of a cd in the top right.

Still, personally, if you are considering downloading music, I normally download a song, see if I like it, then buy the cd, idk, its like supporting a good cause like donating to IC lol ( once I get my bpay account.... )

Some people suggested burning slower, thats only an issue if you are trying to run another laggy program while burning lol, or if you really do have some dodgy cd burner.... ( its safer to get a cd/dvd burner because they are always of a high quality, just fyi )
