Classics or Classical Studies is the branch of the Humanities dealing with the languages, literature, history, art, and other aspects of the ancient Mediterranean world; especially Ancient Greece and Ancient Rome during the time known as classical antiquity, roughly spanning from the Ancient Greek Bronze Age in 1000 BCE to the Dark Ages circa CE 500. The study of the Classics was the initial field of study in the humanities. The word "Classics" also refers to the literature of that period.

where in that definition of Classics does it even mention philosophy? Philosophy is only a tiny part of Classics.

Classics encompasses a massive variety of topics based on a period far better documented than any other up until at least 1700 AD, if not later. It is the study of a period of history that gave us literature as we know it, democracy, the beginnings of science and philosophy, the art of oratory, historiography, sanitation, law courts, and much much more. I would even go so far as to say that had a combination of Christianity and barbarian invasions not forced the gradual collapse of the Roman Empire between 300-500 BC, that we may well have had the industrial revolution 1000 or more years earlier.

sigh, i m in the last weeks of my research project... i curse them for taking 7 months of my l ife like that...


i had a little meeting today..my supervisor was supposed to check some file for me, and she went like "Oh, yeah, i m working on it, but i thought it was kind of messy "

the previous week i had her check the setup and she f*cking agreed on it; i spent almost a day to get the data right >.<

i so want to slap her >.<
