A classic and yet still good for anyone who likes a bit of hard military sci fi.

Boring?  This story of borg's is years old.  It was this story (and the following series) that got me writing my short story a long while ago.  I applaud borg for still posting this story, especially since he hasn't gone back and changed it.

I like the story and all but I dont get how you can have a third person narative telling what happened in the past and have him die... tongue

Not many people know this, but I own the first radio in Springfield. Not much on the air then, just Edison reciting the alphabet over and over. "A" he'd say; then "B." "C" would usually follow...

Litterary liscense:D  The opening monolog of my only story kinda doesn't fit with what happened but oh well.  Your the author u can do anything u want.

I hardly agree this is a boring story. It is many things, certainly, and i will be the last to claim this is my best story ever. It is, in fact, my first story ever and yes, it is simple, the character does not show much depth nor is it long. But it was never meant to be these things. It is an action packed short story, nothing more.
My writing style improved through the years, but i still look fondly on this one because it has such brazen attitude and straightforwardness. And yes, it could have been better if i took the time to rewrite the entire thing. But i won't. This is my little piece of nostalgia.
And if you can't appreciate that, too bad.

perhaps ye remember me borg2, almost 7 years or so ago i read this story, an' i loved it.  And it were bein' fun t' read agian.  I really hope ye can post all yer stories agian.  If not, perhaps ye can send them by e-mail.  I love t' read them all agian

Man, i love the Bas stories. That guy is a bad ass.

Death is the enemy. I spent 10 years of my life single-mindedly studying, practicing, fighting hand to hand in close quarters to defeat the enemy, to send him back bloodied and humble and I am not going to roll over and surrender.
