Welcome to Mafia 54. The USS Zuisudra is about to understand the issues that come with being a generation ship.

The story
The USS Zuisudra was a generation ship launched 60 years ago, travelling to Occisor in the Trappist-1 system. Advances in technology meant that this 39 lightyear trip would take 400 years to complete. The original residents of the Zuisudra were long dead, but hopefully one of their descendants would be alive to see Occisor in person. But some on board the Zuisudra had formed the opinion that the mission was doomed, they needed to turn around now and return to Earth for their sake and the sake of their descendants. The only way to do that would be to conduct a mutiny and take control of the Zuisudra. Arthurius Sanza had been taught by his parents that it was the job of everyone on the ship to do their part to make sure the ship made it safely to Occisor. As he grew up he saw his parents work themselves to death. He remembered in history class reading about the Earth, it hadn't been so bad after all. So why then not turn back? Sanza knew there was no future for himself, but what of his children and their children. Sanza had slowly been building support amongst his close friends. He had his wife Antoinette Sanza supporting him, she believed like him that the only thing to be done was to take over the ship. Their friends Josephine and Martine Abercrombie were with them, they would do whatever was necessary to save the ship and it's inhabitants. The time had come to stage their coup, but it wouldn't be bloodless, many people would have to die before they could do what they must.
Meanwhile, elsewhere on the Zuisudra, Primo and Zarf were making passionate love in the recycling station. They were so engrossed in their activities they didn't notice someone else come into the room. Zarf felt something warm spray on his back and felt Primo's weight flop forwards. Not again, Zarf thought. Then he felt the cold press of steel against his throat as he was given a second smile. The killer admired their work before dipping a brush into the pooling blood on the floor. The killer wrote "NO HOPE" in large letters using Primo and Zarf's blood. The killer sighed. Soon the rest of the crew of the Zuisudra would understand that they were meat to the grinder, they all had no hope of surviving.
The crew of the Zuisudra awoke to find the Captain hanging from the blacony of his room near the bridge. The XO helped lower him down. Carved in the Captain's chest were the words, "Turn back now or suffer the consequences." The XO understood, there were people on board that would do anything to get their own way. All day the crew were going backwards and forwards, trying to decide on what to do. As the day finished, the crew came to the XO. Since the Captain was dead he would be the acting Captain until they could decide on a permanent replacement. The XO called for quiet. "We need some time to think, everyone go back to your berths and think about who might have committed these heinous offences. Tomorrow morning we will try clense this ship of anyone that means it harm."

WHAT THE ROLES DO
Revolutionary
Arthurius Sanza chooses who is killed each night phase by the Conspirators, and who will complete the kill. If investigated he will be revealed as the Revolutionary. If targetted to be killed at night Arthurius Sanza will survive the hit.
Conspirators
The Conspirators are working with the Revolutionary to take control of the Ziusudra and make it turn back to Earth.
Investigators
The investigators have been trained up from birth in secret in case a murder ever occurred on the Ziusurda. They are stealthy and analytical. Each night phase the investigators will choose one person to investigate. If they investigate Arthurius Sanza his identity WILL be revealed, however if they investigate the Serial Killer or the special role then they will appear as a townie.
Doctor
The doctor believes that all life is sacred. Each night the doctor will head out and attempt to save someone's life. The doctor cannot heal the same person two nights in a row. If the doctor heals the Serial Killer or the Impressionable (post activation) then they will be healed and be regular townies.
Serial Killer
The Serial Killer is a passenger aboard the Zuisurda that thinks that the whole thing is doomed to tragedy and that they are doing the ship a favour killing everyone off. Each night the SK will target one person in an attempt to kill them. If the SK targets Arthurius Sanza he will survive this attack. If investigated the SK will appear to be a town member, and if the target of a Conspirator hit the SK will survive. During the day the SK will attempt to sew mayhem and lynch anyone standing in the way of their goal.
The Impressionable
The Impressionable is sympathetic to the actions of the Serial Killer. If The Impressionable is targetted for a night kill by either the Conspirators or the Serial Killer then they will survive and work with the Serial Killer to end everyone. This role will only be activated if the Impressionable is subject to a night kill, and between the Serial Killer and The Impressionable they will still only be allowed ONE kill per night.
Town Members
Each night the town members will be bunked down, hoping that the Conspirators don't make an example of them. During each day phase the town members will attempt to root out the Conspirators and purge the crew.

The Rules
- Your objective is to control the USS Ziusurda; to do this, you must eliminate your opposing faction.
- Conspirators are allowed 1 kill each night; they will win if they kill all townies and the serial killer
- Town will win if they kill all Conspirators and kill or heal the serial killer/s
- The Serial Killer is allowed 1 kill each night; they win if they kill everyone else and are the sole survivor or if they survive with The Impressionable only
- Each day phase, every player must vote for whoever they think should be lynched; this person will die and no longer be a part of the game
- In the event of a tie in the number of votes at the end of dayphase, there will be an extended period of 1 hour for players to change their votes, should they wish to do so; if at the end of the extended period the tie still persists, BOTH players will be lynched; if a player missed the original voting deadline he will NOT be able to cast his vote during the extended period. During the extended voting period only those who were tied on can be voted on.
- You cannot miss two votings in a row; should this happen, you will be immediately removed from the game, and lynch will still commence based on voting.
- The voting deadline is just that, a deadline. Day phase will finish at 2000 GMT, this means that if you vote at 20:00:01 GMT your vote will be excluded. This is irrelevant of whether the game moderators have posted that voting is closed.
- You are NOT allowed to make public the message sent you by the game moderators to tell you your role, either entirely or in part; should this happen you will be removed from the present game and possibly future editions as well. You can share what your information means, but you cannot share exact text.
- Once you're dead, you're dead. Do no talk about the game to still active players, or post in the forum thread. This will be considered an act of influence upon the remaining players, and will get you banned from future games. We all like to have fun, and play by the rules, so please keep that in mind.
