I'm happy to introduce a new, improved, and most importantly FREE drafting system.  It is now easier than ever to play alongside your friends.

No Premium Account Required

The new drafting system is free to all players, old and new, with or without a premium VIP account.

How It Works

In galaxies where drafting is enabled, you will find a new section in your empire settings page called "Draft a Friend!".

Inside of this section is a button where you can generate a draft code specific to your empire in that galaxy.  You can give this code to whoever you like.  No more having to provide your draftee with your email address.

Each player is limited to a single draft.  However, as each draftee will also have their own draft code, you can "chain" draft codes together to fill up a team if enough spots are available in your family.

What's the point of Premium Accounts?

With this change, and the recent Hot List feature, premium accounts no longer offer any in-game perks.

That's the way it should be.  Even if subtle, paid drafting was ever so slightly pay-to-win in that it gave paid accounts a coordination advantage.  That is no longer the case.

New perks are planned for Premium accounts, but for the time being the only reason to donate is simply to support IC's continued development.

As for now, the upcoming Andromeda round is the only draft galaxy in the short term, but other options will be available in the future.
