another thing I just discovered is rubbish in the game now.

1.7mil agents and a total NW of 2mil nw for me

VS a banker with 3.3mil nw


not a single hit on cash factory and tons of fails

You need around 5 times more agents than your oponent to succeed nukes. I consider it very likely this banker has 350k agents (10% his nw). Hence, you need over  1,75 mill agents.

I had closer to 1.8 only checked the total after my 1st fail.

Well if its not a bug it just about sums up the game.

Will the last person left please switch the server off to save the environment....

You have random fail chance and when in war the banker might have even more agents.

There's no set # of agents you need to successfully cast an op, and there never has been.  Random fails, regardless of whether or not they make any sense, have always been a thing. 

Now, nukes in themselves are less than reliable... specifically if your goal is to hit a single building (you mentioned cash factories) as they randomly target any of the possible 9 buildings giving you a roughly 11% chance of hitting the one you want.  Let's be super generous, and say you had enough agents to land 90% of the nukes you cast,  that gives each nuke a 9.9% chance of hitting cash factories. 

There's no bug here, although it could be argued that nukes need to be reworked.  The only thing about this thread that sums up the current state of the game is the attitude some of our veteran players have smile

I have 250k agents and 280k CFs so no reason he shouldn't have hit my CFS. Hit research tos etc... Just never CFS

Doesn't matter if you have 0 cfs or 10,000,000....each nuke still has an 11% chance of hitting them.

If it had done something wacky, like only hit research centers 29 times, it would be worth looking at.  Assuming of course that you sorted that list alphabetically Bud...if that's the order that the nukes took place then it might be worth looking into. 

Otherwise it's like being mad at a coin for landing on heads 5x in a row.

If random you have a 6,3% chance not to hit cf when nuking 29 times in a row.
Personally i think nukes should kill 2,5% of all infra.

Again, I'm not saying that taking another look at nukes is necessarily a bad idea, it's just a convo I've had multiple times as mod, fmod, and player and what it tends to come down to is if you allow players the ability to select what building a nuke will hit, you have to increase the difficulty of the op to the point that it's almost impossible to cast to keep it balanced.  So throw some ideas out there.

What happened here is just unlikely, it's not a bug tongue

No one is saying you should choose what building to nuke? What we are saying is for all we know it could be that it is impossible to hit a players main built buildings. Hence a bug.

It should be tested if nothing else I think.

I lost 40% of my main buildings last round to nukes... so I know it's not impossible to hit a player's main built buildings.  I also know that the # of buildings a player has doesn't in any way contribute to the nuke formula

Anyone playing sd next round try this out again on somone to see if it happens the same.

Based on the 3 people i nuked i dont think this each building type nuked is random is how it works out.

All 3 of them had okay amount of agents and the none bankers had no problem hitting cash factory or to

This leads me to theory that the chance of hitting a infra type which is built in a higher amount in the enemy empire is less common than hitting something thats not built in high amounts or at all.

We could use somone who actually knows the behind the scenes of the game like pie to take a look rather than being fobbed off by a mod.

I agree I think it is neer impossible to hit say CFs if the player has 80% of them. I also agree it isn't a mods place to dismiss this, it should be looked at by someone who has access to the formula.

It should be random what you hit. Well as random as u can get.
