Topic: Christian Social Conservatives

So here we have it, I am going to gripe on you hard

1) Christ did not form a government aid agency
In fact it was Government which killed him. Please think long and hard on this. The larger the Government, the more power it has...

2) Christ healed regardless of the ailment.
The Catholic Church seems to think medical care of advanced nature to help women have children is wrong. It is not.

3) Christ attacked the money changers.
He did so because they were on the Church property and had set up banking regulations of sorts to regulate what currency could be used to buy sacrifices (short version). The correlary on this is: He was fighting fist and foot against those who intruded upon the Church and its domain.

4) Christ never forced donations
He said they were good but he never forced a tax upon his followers for which would go to the 'common good'. He did seek tithes for Church operations however, a separate thing.

5) Christ did not set up an ongoing charity
There was no foodbank, no orphanage, no school, or anything of the sort. Insteaed he taught us to do the good ourselves. Let me be clear, he said we should do such on our own, but he never set up any of the sort.

The short of this is simple, a SocialCon as they are called is doing it wrong. The Government or a foundation is not the way, you must do the good yourself.

Everything bad in the economy is now Obama's fault. Every job lost, all the debt, all the lost retirement funds. All Obama. Are you happy now? We all get to blame Obama!

Straight from the bible Einstein. You can take it out of context and then interpret it literally, then abide by it (please?). I hope they dont pour this into government policy however. Otherwise, stop abusing out-of-context bits of a 2000y old book to formulate modern policies. Mind you, doesnt go just for you, goes for any religious person.

When speaking your mind, it is of utmost importance to keep using it !

Yeah it is, because it reduces human beings to objects.  It's why you see lawsuits for "wrongful birth" when a couple has a kid with a disease, or the wrong racial ancestry.

It is sad that the Secular Center-Left is trying to capture the Republican party and bend it to this path.  I think we will recall that up to 1973 everybody not an outright communist was a "SoCon".  I think we will remember that whatever your personal notions of God or your lack of faith, the historic truth is that most people who ever lived in the United States did have that belief, and saw nothing incompatible with Christian faith and American politics.

I think we will stand back and let the Democrats flatten you in the elections, and then break the Democrats with illegal resistance to immoral laws.  At the end, we will have a political party that respects our values, and we'll elect them.  And that won't include anybody tainted by your brand.

It's sort of disingenuous to say "you're taking things out of context," then not bothering to provide the context to show why the context was inappropriate.

TCO for laughingstock of political debates?

As for Chris people are never objects, thus why the gift of healing is cool. I am no advocate of paying or forcing providing, but there are a LOT of religious origin style hospitals where people serve, often for less pay than their skills, to do healing.
