Topic: Supernova start strategy

I am seeing very different starting stretegies in supernova. Would like your thoughts on what is the best.

First topic. I'm seeing expo waves of 8, 16 and even 24 as first wave. What do you prefer and why? I went for 16. The extra pop income is well worth it vs 8 planet expo wave. What do you think is the optimum first expo wave size?

well, I don't do any calculations in supernova. I tried 8, 12 and 16 and I would go for 12 or 16 in the future.
I understand you prefer the extra pop income which gives you the better income but it's more difficult to get the resources straight (you should calculate what you need - so there you see my problem with 16 eships, I'm to lazy for that tongue). 12 Eships on the other hand makes you more flexibel to the situation you're in. it gave me a more comfortable feeling and my infra was best with it. Also, timing to send the next e-wave felt good.

I actually don't understand why I wanted to try the 16 eships again this round *shakes head*

But as said in the beginning. This is based on personal feeling. No maths behind it.

Considering the attack delay this round I went again for the maximum and did a first 38 expo wave  (30 expo's from start and built and additional 8).
- Claimed two small systems (2x 15 planets) in some nearby clusters as additional cores as edge of my core
- other 8 expo's went to 8 systems between my three cores.

I still think this is the most efficient way to go. Key is to invest heavily in resources on your home planet already I made 115 CF to get mij Homeplanet 50% built fast for my expo wave. The rest was MF en RF (35 if I remember correct).

Deleted all units except wizards at tick 0 to maximze income. Casted SA at tick 1 to prevent the need of additional wizards and than killed them wizards off.
