What is the bond between a soldier and a Veteran? Allow me to demonstrate what a soldier is, and how Veterans are with a fictional story.

A very rich man died, in his will he offered a million dollars per a marine to complete a 4th of July Marathon in a certain time range to childrens health, medines, and research for things like Leukemia and other cancers. Anything else would be left to his greedy partner.

The Marines all got the day off, for months they trained and trained. They were certain they could get every man across that finish line. The day finally came, except this 4th of July was hot.

How hot? A black flag day, so hot the mayor arranged for umbrellas along the route, hot enough to make a plastic cup left on a cement road to melt. The Marines stil formed up though they were already sweating tons. So hot it was no one else would run that day. Dozens of ambulannces stood by for the heat sick.

Down they ran, some handling the heat better, some not so well. At the last half mile, where Veterans stood to cheer the Marines on, the Marines started slowing and limping from cramps.. some made the whole distance, while some could not.

Suddenly an old Veteran, a former Gunnery Sergeant yells out "Veterans, render assistance" and a wave of Veterans follow his lead and help the soldiers across the line, every last one of them barely in time.

You see we Veterans know the pain of war, of injury, of loss. We may not be in that line of fire currently, but we kmnow what it feels like. We will be there for our fellow soldiers in their time of need. This is what it is like for those who do not understand.

This Memorial Day please think of the Veterans who died under the criminal acts of some at the Veterans Hospitals. These people did the act of homicide by denying life saving care. Please help us in our time of need to shout "These murderers must go to jail!". Rally for us as we have rallied for the nation. God Bless every soldier and every Veteran, and God Bless America.
