Topic: [POLL] Prefer small or big map?

Which one do you prefer: Small or big map????

Small Map
==========
- early fighting
- unexplored planets run out 1/3 into the round, forcing families to fight

Big Map
==========
- longer expo phase
- more planets, never run out until EOR

There is pros and cons for each of these. But I really want you to discuss and tell us what you think BEFORE you vote!

I am not suggesting changes to IC right now. I just want every player's opinions and share them with mods.

Okay, I'm gonna share my thoughts. I prefer big map for these reasons:

1) Small families still have chance to grow until the end of the round.
2) Camaar is more useful in this big map.
3) Encourage families to fight for border control.

What I think about small maps:

1) Early fighting during expo phase
2) Run out of unexplored planets 1/3 or 1/2 into the round, forcing families to fight before EOR
3) Con: Small families will not have more planets to explore, forcing them to overbuild and fear of getting crush by bigger enemy. Some of them may give up playing and wait for next round.
4) Random placed family surrounding few nearby families will have smaller core than other families.

I cant think of something else.

if you got to bigger map, then make the round longer. that way you can war someone more times. and take out pnaps.
when i joined in round 6, we had 3 wars with 1 fam in the round. it was a 3 month round, and my fam and the enemy were in top 5 fams.

make bigger fams, less fams, bigger galaxy, longer time.
oh and the 75% nw limit is great.

bigger map = longer round is irrelevant because there is fewer number of fams, if u fight every fam, then have nothing to do before EOR, they will cry "end the round please"....longer round will only work very well if there is larger number of families as long as unexplored planets dont run out fast

Well said Vegnarok i said the same thing.. small maps rounds are done in like 2-3 weeks their is a clear winner and a runner up thats it and  can only have 1 -2 real wars and ur done its gay

bigger map does allow more chances for family's to spread later


Ie once big boys have hammered the fams in there ranges

Its still then possible for the other fams to spread and fight mid / low wars  something that isnt possible with no spread

but for that reason id definitely have a NW limit on size of family's you can attack
