This makes no sense. Infils alone won't tell the story. His military bonus compared to your bonus play a factor as well as what units you're using. You're being too vague. Its probably not a bug at all. Find me in irc and we'll figure it out.

Did you notize he has 50% defense against your 50% attak base?

Also he may have No Fear kasted, that adds 10% more to defense
