issue confirmed
for the curious: ic's tag points work off of 2 values:
1) "account tag points"
These are the original tag points that used to require a mod (but not fmod) to go into the mod tools and add them by hand.
2) "post tag points"
These are the recently added post-specific tag points I coded in to make it easier for mods (and now fmods) to reward points for specific posts themselves.
The problem is, when we lost our original forums, the then-new forum was modified so that player post counts would not increase so that they could hold the tag point value instead. I'm not sure why it was done this way, but I assume because of the urgency of the first hacking.
So now with this upgrade, post counts increase again but as the tag point code takes that count as a factor, people's actual tags become incorrect as they post. However, this value gets reset every hour for reasons that I won't get into, so this mistaken gain is only temporary.
In other words, every time anybody posts they are effectively giving themself an automatic "account" tag point until their actual tag gets reset again. =P
But this is a broken system and I will be fixing it. For now, I will be disabling account-level tag points entirely to prevent abuse. This means that many of you will be "demoted" for the time being. Not ideal, but compared to forum spam it is the lesser of two evils.
Thanks for the help testing TBO, here's some actual tag points.
