Re: Orion Nebula: player input required!
I guess what players need to recognise is the limits we have in setting up a galaxy. We could use a lil more dev input to get some more settings in place for the "ultimate" setup like some of the suggested ideas here.
We have limited control over things like map size (20x20 40x40 60x60 etc), systems per galaxy (we have settings like "Lots" "Average" "Less" etc). Starting resources to a minimal degree (set at 1-5x 10x 20x)
We have full control over stuff like player #'s, family size, amount of sectors/DSs/Allies/NAPs/Starting Explos, Market and Offensive start dates, drafts, HC or not, aid between fam members or not, a normal market etc (without having to go into massive detail.)
We have no current control over: increasing Race points, placing players into random systems, amount of starting planets, cost and time of buildings/units/portals.
Players will have to remember that any change made for a HC gal will likely be game wide, so if you think there should be changes made consider whether its worthy of being implemented across the board. Also the code is messy, we prefer Devs to work on current issues before moving onto newer changes since with changes it usually creates some sort of other issue elsewhere
(not pointing at this being the devs fault, we all understand the spiderweb of code you guys need to work on outside of your busy RL schedules
)
So before flaming us in regards to set up, at least suggest something that is within our scope to change ![]()
EDIT: also in regards to markets, we have a "buggy" bidless market at the moment where with previous rounds has caused issues, this would need some working on before we were to implement this in for a round also. So norm market or no market at the moment ![]()
I once prayed to god for some planets, but quickly found out he didnt work that way
