I had so many elementary schools I had severe problems all the way through highschool. It was not until college I learned most of what I had missed.

I still do not know when to use too instead of to, except to say me too!

Dunno how to explain it, but you use "too" in sentences such as "I am too full for dessert", or "The bus stop is too far away". I guess you use it when describing a quantity of something, is the best way I can describe it.

Other than that, you use "to"!

To, Too, Two
What's the difference between to, too, and two? It's not too difficult to use them, once you take the time to learn what they mean - and do some practicing too.


To

To has two functions. First, as a preposition, in which case it always precedes a noun.

I'm going to the store

He went to Italy

This belongs to David

Secondly, to indicates an infinitive when it precedes a verb.

I need to study

We want to help

He's going to eat


Too

Too also has two uses. First, as a synonym for "also":

Can I go too?

He went to France too

I think that's Paul's book too

Secondly, too means excessively when it precedes an adjective or adverb.

I'm too tired

He's walking too quickly

I ate too much


Two

Two is a number.

One, two, three...

I have two cars

She ate two pieces of pie

 
The Bottom Line

The confusion between to, too, and two occurs because the three words are pronounced identically.

One: If you're able to replace the word with "also" or "excessively/too much," use too. Two: If the word is a number, use two. Otherwise, you'll want to use to.

Arby: A very strict mod, reminds me of a fat redneck who drives a truck around all day with a beer in one hand. I hated this guy at the start, however, I played a round in PW with him where he went as an anonymous player. Our fam got smashed up and everyone pretty much left. Arby stayed around and helped out the remaining family. At the end of the round he revealed himself.... My views on him have changed since. Your a good guy.....

They substitute teaching the formal rules of the English language for 12 years of dull English classes. There, you read useless literature, take vocabulary tests, and write book reports. Then you have to take English again in college. I'm not kidding. I never learned anything new after 7th grade (13 years old).

This represents a larger problem with the US system of education. You are not taught the basics, then you move to an intermediate level without advancing further. That is why many college students take pre-algebra for 2+ semesters before they move on to the next class. I'm not joking about this either.
