Re: Here comes the world economic depression

Two major elections

France elected a socialist on the hard left. The nation, teetering financially is about to have a run on its value and hard. Millionaires are preparing to leave and never come back.

Greece just fragmented their parties so it is near impossible to form a governing coalition. The look out here is that they will demand money for continuing their life style... and no one will want to give it.

I see no way out... the collapse of those two nations will break the Euro and probably the EU as well. The death spiral for Europe started this weekend, and with it gets sucked the United States til we remove Barack (because he will tell/let Bernanke send endless money to Europe to 'prop it' and we will drop like a rock as well).

I am buying food today... damn well wish I was home so I could buy a gun also... damned laws preventing me while I am in my semi...

Re: Here comes the world economic depression

No panic! There are three political parties in Greece which support the budget cuts agenda and together they have a majority. As of France: Hollande must keep his agenda up until the general elections are over in 4-6 weeks. After that he has time and will cut his campaign promises. Hollande is pragmatic and Merkel is pragmatic. After some time they will work as one wink

Oh noes, the people of a nation have voted differently to how you think Flint, how could they do such a thing! Damn that democracy and freedom to vote how you feel, who would think it meant that people preferred socialist policies! It's almost like right wing policies are stupid and most people realise this!

There is a difference between your opinion and fact, Flint. Try learning about it some day maybe?

Time to declare war on France and place Jean-Christophe Bonaparte on the throne. We all know they'll simply surrender. At present, the true heir works for Stanley-Morgan, so we can assume he understands finances very well.

A Bonaparte? No! It's clear we need a Bourbon.

Europe should be occupied and managed for the benefit of its peoples in trust for the day when they are capable of self-government

also we need markets for our manufactured goods and raw materials to hold off other industrialized nations

The core joke of Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is that of course no civilization would develop personal computers with instant remote database recovery, and then waste this technology to find good drinks.
Steve Jobs has ruined this joke.

There's no need to occupy what is already owned.

How about this: Just because people vote against a policy, it doesn't mean their choice is good.  Take the example of Greece: if the government which the people elected is thus unable to form a coherent economic policy to satisfy Eurozone fiscal requirements, they'll have some serious economic issues.

It's one thing to have representation in one's own state affairs.  However, when a nation has international commitments, especially when those requirements require some domestic strain to satisfy, "what is best for the nation" and "what the people want" can be two very divergent things.
