Republican Gov. Rick Perry of Texas vowed on Friday to continue his standoff with the Obama administration over abortion funding.

The impasse reached a new level of tension late in the week, after the Department of Health and Human Services announced on Thursday that the Obama administration intends to withhold $35 million in federal funding from the Texas Women

Everything bad in the economy is now Obama's fault. Every job lost, all the debt, all the lost retirement funds. All Obama. Are you happy now? We all get to blame Obama!

unfortunately the us govt has pretty much unfettered discretion as to how they use their spending power.  they have used it in the past to "force" (threat of losing many millions of funding is essentially the same as forcing) many states to conform to their ideals such as minimum drinking age laws etc

So I told the cop, "No YOU'RE driving under the influence... of being a JERK!"

its essentially how the gov't regulates public welfare even though that job is given to the states

Yup. And this is another example of freedom being inherently good and giving it up to Big Brother being inherently bad.
