Topic: War Ideas

Just some thoughts, give your opinions on them.

1. Have a War tracker that can be seen by the entire galaxy. When a family declares war on another it will show up in the tracker and also the amount of planets gained/lost. This will help to identify if families are actually warring or if they are just claiming to war. And it also flows into point 2.

2. Implementing a "War Tax" so that when war is declared your family will produce 50% MORE income/resources for the next 48hrs. However, the drawback would be that as soon as the 48hrs is over the income not only drops to normal but to -60% of what it would have been for 48hrs.

Doing this would help families to save for wars but limit them from using wars to just boost infra. There are other ways this can be twisted to see if it would work better but I am just shooting from the hip on this one.

point 2 is kinda stupid. because after war you need stuff to build new planets and you are already weakened so having a -60% income or what ever will become a pain in the ass (to many dishonorable fams that will abuse it) they will declare war right after some1 came out of a war know they have 60% less income plus they had a war so lost allot and tha fam that declares gets a boos of 50% that would mean an advantage of 110% tongue

would be fun for small fams to equal a fight but for big fams it would mean dead right away wink

nice idea but should be worked out with something that small fams get a 50% income boos when a fam lets say 15% bigger orso gets its and the fam that is 15% doesn't get it. it will stop farming because fights can be more equal but also it will be not quiet fair.

I disagree with the statement that because planets aren't exchanging hands quickly a war is not still in progress. Some wars come down to ops for several days until you finally weaken the family enough to take the planets you want tongue

Very few wars actually last days anymore. For the most part they are over within 24-48hrs and fams continue to "fight" while they rebuild their infra so nobody else swoops in and hits them.

Part of battle is knowing when to pick a fight and when to get out of one. If you cant win a war and come out ready to defend yourself then you should never have gone to war in the first place.

1st point sounds like a great idea

2nd point has many implications on gameplay which can screw up game balance
