Topic: Add an actual banking system

Share resources between family members. I will mostlikely get flamed really hard on this one tongue

Basicly:

You have a fund, just like the one for the defence fund. Everyone can trow in their stuff as they like. Leader can give people
authority to withdraw from it by a tag or without a tag. This way you can put the family bank system in work way easyer.

The risk for the family is, giving authority to the wrong person who might screw up all plans. But if your members are trusworthy
this would make things so much easyer...

So instead of aiding to people you could just aid in to the bank...

1. Just give viceleaders the skill to withdraw
2. maybe give out an op to view savings? Or a op to attack savings? as you can kill cash on someone, but if it is in bank u cant

I like this idea. Fambank is pretty much the only form of strat in use nowasays, perhaps some smaller fams use teams, tho that's more cause of inactivity than choice.

Let leader appoint who has access - but not VLs. For strategic reasons this should be hidden for outsiders.

soo the money/resources are then on the bank, so not in posession of any player

then how can you opp that? there must be a way to destroy cash/iron from the bank ... else the bank is too safe!
and if there is an op to hit the bank, then its too easy to destroy alot tongue

it would have to be as easy as a vision to find out who is fam bank. that is only thing.

Gurney.  simple solution to this has been suggested. 

each player can choose who to allow trade with in the family.
if you allow me, i can log on to my account, and see your resources, and take whatever i want.  this way the actually fam banker is not required, instead families can still operate effectively by having access without needing said person online.

it has been discused before, but forgotten like many other ideas, not a player, a family fund to use it as family bank, we have already one family fund developed for defense stations, its damn easy to use it as family bank aswell, where the Leader and Vice Leaders can add and substract stuff, while normal players can only add.

but then you still have to assign it to a player in the fam to make it opp-able (vision, destroy cash,...)?

if it is the leader, then its very easy for enemy families to know who to op to destory the most iron/cash... they just have to aim at the leader and they get it all if that fam works with fambank?

yep it brings new strategies, like making leader agent/wizz strong, or just swapping leadership to the fam opper while the fam is saving. 
Another solution is to give leader the ability to set one player as the ficticial bank holder, but that requires coding and probably a new tag, and we want the game dont go too complex at this stage dont we??

not as easy when you have to do 10 visions to find out (worst case in a fam of 10), considering wizzards have other important stuff to do like plists and individual visions to find out production after tic, and the ops are limited, you need someone to waste a lot of ops unless you're lucky enuf to get it at 1st try, and once again, if the "ficticial" holder is wizzie strong gonna require more ops than you think

honestly the easiest way to do it is like this:

-Leader is allowed to withdrawn everything from bank at anytime
-VLs are allowed to withdrawn 1/X part of the bank only every tic, where X is the number of VLs declared in the fam, so if you have 4 VLs, then every VL is allowed to take only 1/4 (25%) of the saves every tic
-Normal players are not allowed to witdrawn at all

that being a good idea still requires extra coding, while the family defense fund is already running, our developers only have to add or modify few code lines just to turn it into a complet vault (for cash & ressies) and add the ability to add/substract.

the weak point of your idea tho is that I'm afraid people will progressively decide NOT to allow it, figure out you're a resser, you login and find out you need stuff to start a portal or lasers urgently, but all your production has been already taken in that tic and you cannot locate whoever is bank, you cannot use market, you have to go into irc and/or ask for aid in forums, so in summary, you are in a worst situation you'd be with the current fambank system.

I say just let the players keep the decision to give or not give their stuff away, or else people gonna start feeling they are bots and lose motivation.
