I dont have a source. Theres no way in hell that Obama has spent more in 2.5 years than Bush did in 8. Not with 2 wars, 3 if you count the war on terror. I dont need to be an economic expert to figure that out.

All the Bush spending could have been stopped by Obama if he wanted to; so saying "well that part of the budget I signed belongs to Bush.  And that there belongs to FDR.  And THAT is Lyndon Johnson's." is lame

I always find it interesting when one person claims another is a drone of a group of other people that agree with them... when the person making said argument is stating an opinion with its own set of people which agree with him (MSNBC, Rachel Maddow, etc).  Kind of hurts the argument that someone else in a two-sided issue is a "mindless drone" when the alternative to being part of one massive ideology... is to join an opposite massive ideology. 

Oh, right... and bad play to not go into sources.  I'm trying to find good sources on this either way, but I know what I'll find will be charged as politically biased one way or another... so I'm trying to find government websites. 

In Detroit you can buy a house and 1/2 an acre of land for under $1000 in cash. No plumbing or wiring, the metal thieves tore it out... but you can easily find a posh 5 bedroom, 2 bath house for under $2000 if you desire, again no plumbing or wiring, but not that expensive (in normal regions) to fix that.

Silly Republicans don't understand that supply responds to demand. Instead, they have it reversed and that's how they justify their fantasies like trickle down economics.

I'm not advocating communism. I'm advocating a mixed economy with a progressive tax rate. In some sectors of the economy, it's more efficient for the government to be involved. In markets with high economies of scale and high entrance costs, a few firms will dominate it. In which case it makes sense for the government to set price controls, forcing the oligopoly or monopoly that develops to improve their efficiency and invest in R&D rather than merely raise prices. An example would be power companies.

Finally, supply-side economics is bogus because suppliers won't expand unless consumers will buy their product. If there is high unemployment and consumers have low disposable income, then excess profits of companies will not be used to hire more people. Instead, there will be hording and overseas investment. That is exactly what we have now. This is why a progressive tax rate is essential. That way consumers have more disposal income, and suppliers respond by increasing production and hiring more employees.

Having said that, the Democrats can buzz off for always labeling the upper middle class rich.

What Obama should do:
1 - Raise taxes (by $2tn a year)
2 - Cut spending (by $1tn a year)
3 - One-off supertax on large corporate profits (could easily raise $1tn)
4 - Start paying off the national debt

If only USA was run like China... instead bipartisan politico-self-interest and self-aggrandising gets in the way and punishes the 300,000,000 middle-class and poor Americans. Wonder why 30,000,000 illegals desire a life of waiting in Taco Bell, watching Oprah, and poor dental plans?
