Topic: IC Mafia 27

And it all starts again!

Alchoran, Eltara and I will be hosting this game, and we aim to get started this weekend. This means sign ups are NOW OPEN! Keep checking back on this thread for updated information!

The following are the characters in this game. These will be allocated at random to those who sign up:
1 - Queen
1 - Prince
7 - Usurpers

1 - Foreign Assassin

1 - King
1 - Barber Surgeon
1 - King's Bodyguard
1 - Courtesan
12 - Knights

= 24 players

* Note that the number of roles is dependant of the number of sign ups, this may still change.

**** NIGHT PHASE - WHO DOES WHAT? ****
Each phase of the game begins with the night. The following can happen during this time:

- The King is the leader of the kingdom of Anzio. During the night he will be able to give the King's blessing to one of the knights, who, in case the Court tries to lynch him during the day, will be saved. The King can not bless himself, and even he is not allowed to bless the same person twice in a row.
- The Queen is the leader of the Usurpers. She is not elected, and will have final say on who is killed at night, and who conducts the kill. She will be immune to being killed at night.
- The Courtesan is a pro-court secret role.
- The Prince is a pro-usurpers secret role. The only thing that is known about him, is that he will take over leadership of the Usurpers, with the same powers as the Queen had.
- The Foreign Assassin is a hired killer who kills one person every night. He works alone. He cannot be cured, however he can be killed at night, and lynched during the day.
- The Barber Surgeon chooses one person to spare in the event that that person is chosen for death by the Usurpers or Foreign Assassin. The Barber Surgeon cannot heal himself and he is also forbidden to heal the same person two nights in a row. Healing the Foreign Assassin does not cure him.
- The King's Bodyguard can carry out an investigation on their target to find out their role. Note that investigations on the Queen or the Foreign Assassin will show up as pro-Court. 



**** DAY PHASE - LYNCHING ****
During the day phase, the town will find out who has been murdered. All townsfolk (including the Usurpers, the Foreign Assassin, the Barber Surgeon, and the King's Bodyguard) can then vote who they think are the Usurpers. This is the lynching process. There will be a deadline to which the people must vote by. If there is a draw, the deadline will be extended and voting will remain open for those who have tied. If there is still a draw by the new deadline, there will be no lynch. Once the result is in, the person will then be dead and their role will be revealed. Then that round is over and night begins again when the night roles make their next choices.

All votes must be made in the forum in new posts (do not edit old posts).


**** WHO WINS? ****
The Usurpers will win if they manage to kill off everyone else. The Foreign Assassin wins if he is the last person alive and the rest win if they manage to kill off the Usurpers and the Foreign Assassin.


**** RULES ****
Everyone who is alive is allowed to post in the thread to discuss who they think are the Usurpers or try to make themselves less suspicious (if they are Usurpers!). You may NOT quote any part of messages sent by the game moderator, or conversations with them. Doing so is regarded as cheating and will result in your sudden death, and your exclusion from future games.

If any townsfolk miss the lynching voting on at most 2 occasions, they will be mod killed and replaced with a reserve. If no reserves are remaining, their role will be removed and revealed. Reserves will no longer be used after the 4th night.

If you die, the game is over for you and you are not permitted to discuss the game with any of the people still playing. Doing so will result in a ban from future games. Please don't spoil it for everyone else.


**** SIGN UP ****

For those who want to play, you can do this by ingaming Princess_Sofia in #5097 or emailing [email protected] and say who you are and that you want to play mafia.

Deadline to do this is 20:00 UK time on Saturday 23th July.

Once the deadline is reached, I will use a random Excel formula to pick our players and will publish the list below. Role descriptions will be sent out shortly after and we'll begin!

Again, you cannot sign up if you are forum banned and I will be using the last game to judge whether you're IRC active enough to play!

I would like to point out one more time that showing any sort of interaction with the game moderators is absolutely forbidden, as is showing your role description. Doing this will result in your sudden death, and you will be banned from future games.
Even offering to do so is against game rules.
Just don't do this, it ruins the fun for everyone.

Arby: A very strict mod, reminds me of a fat redneck who drives a truck around all day with a beer in one hand. I hated this guy at the start, however, I played a round in PW with him where he went as an anonymous player. Our fam got smashed up and everyone pretty much left. Arby stayed around and helped out the remaining family. At the end of the round he revealed himself.... My views on him have changed since. Your a good guy.....
