Topic: Meet Your Neighbor

Hey there, SupAll here, and well, I was just thinking about how the community of this rp has changed in the past four-five years and it apparently changes so often that I don't know who a huge portion of this community are any longer.  So, I created this thread to just say "Hi" to those that I have not fully introduced myself to and to allow those who have not formally introduced themselves to do so as well.  It's a  great way to know the community of roleplayers here and to figure who to make fun of (*cough*ARFeh*cough*).

So, Hello!

... I think the point was more inline with introducing yourself, types or roleplays you like etc.

Hio, I'm called Question and came by roleplay as Politics and General were bringing me down.  I have only fully participated in a single roleplay Starcraft: The Reclaimation of Auir.  This was done probably 2-3 years ago now.  I'll probably be reposting it over this summer so look out for it.  It was co-authored with Heaven Bound whom I haven't seen for ages.  I was planning on posting a few of my poems in the poetry thread but the whole forum wipe and my shyness of my poetical ability stopped me.  I often read borg's stories my favoriate being Warhammer the Last Stand.  Favoriate character ever is Lore the Librarian.

Other notable stories I have read over the years was Adam: The last man, and I can't remember but there was an Apacolypse thread about the Earth being cut off from heaven and being largely ruled by hell.  That one got cancelled prematurely.  Currently kinda intregued by the new Tau story.  Was an active reader of Harry Potter. Don't know when/if I'll be actively roleplaying again, maybe I'll revisit Starcraft after the secong game comes out.

I'm going to be nicer promise

I've been given permission by Arandur (its creator) to write my own story based on it and I have started doing so. Should it ever be finished, it'll appear here ^^
Oh, and it was called "The Apocalypse: Rising of Darkness"

I'll never know if it was worth the pain, but I still loved it more than anything in the world - it was my life.

Re: Meet Your Neighbor

2-3 years, huh, Question?  I didn't realize you were here for that long.

Well, about me, I've been here for years...5-6 years, one would think, and I remember that the first RP I joined was called D-Day Invasion.  It was a single line RP and it was pretty fun and fast paced with some wacky attacks and counter-attacks.  The first RP I created was called Paintball Wars, which was also a single line RP.  The funny thing about this RP was that I had no experience with paintball.  tongue  I remember actually borrowing a bit from the initial post in D-Day about playing cards in the middle of a battlefield and applying it to my RP for my starting post.  It became quite successful (something I had never even thought about).

Around that time, I ended up reading some of borg's stories.  Now, I had written some stories in the past, but they were short and I never finished any single one of them.  However, the way borg wrote, the way he made it so interesting, made my mind go kinda crazy with imagination.  Soon, I started writing out "The Two Stars" and it not only gained a number of readers, but even caught borg's attention.  He even asked me to join in a collaboration with him and three other writers, which would've become the ultimate Roleplay Forum project if it had finished: Experiment 148.  I would write a sequel to "The Two Stars" called "Fraudatio", which disappointed some people by the ending.

I've created many roleplays and joined numerous others, but perhaps the one roleplay that really made things interesting was the famed Mobile Suit Wars by JackShadow.  It is the perfect example of a one-liner roleplay turning into the story-driven, multi-paragraph universe that ended up becoming the end of the series.  It was chaotic, it was fast-paced, and it was an ever-changing roleplay with something new happening.  We always joked that not a single character would die in the roleplay because we'd come up with some imaginative way of them coming back (Blonde's character becoming a cyborg after death, Silent's ability to somehow cheat death, and others).  It was fun.

I've run out of time, so maybe I'll post more later.  Tata!

Re: Meet Your Neighbor

SupAll, well IC started in what 2001? almost 7 years.  A fella can only get so much before they move to more than just Politics and General.  And IC time is weird like that.  I copied the entire page in HTML and have been too lazy just take the text of the story so I'll check the exact posted dates of it big_smile, but I'm pretty sure it should be over 2 years now from the start of it.  It took near a year to write as both Heaven and I kept getting distracted with "real life" and since I know what my real life events were I have a decent idea when I actually was writing it.

I remember reading some of D-day yep it was great.  Don't think I looked at Paintball though.  Mad crazy of you to make a RP of something you don't know about.

Lloyd, your Elantra right?  Well don't wait to the end.  Do what borg does, post a chapter or so.  Having other people reading and encouraging you will help keep the motivation going besides that story actually sent chills down my spine when I was reading it.  And there was an Angel, may have been you, who found some sword or something and there was a break in the sky and for a moment he felt God's presence again.  The imagry in that story was amazing come on.  If you have passed more than a couple of lines and will be able to post even once a week do it.  Please.

[The Edit]
OMG We started this in January and ended it the FOLLOWING Feburary.  So since it wasn't this or last year... it may have started as far back as 2004, more likely it was 2005 but man, in either case yep I've been around RP for a while now.

I'm going to be nicer promise

Re: Meet Your Neighbor

Woot, i think I joined this game around 2002 although my first account got blocked this is my second. In the beginning I never really had a thing for the forums but I did visit general once in a while to see some funney stuff. But that was when my fam was

Re: Meet Your Neighbor

I've been on the Roleplay forum off and on for... I think almost 8 years now.  I joined in junior high and I'm now in college - that's a crazy thought.
My first rp was Mage Wars, probably the 7th or 8th edition of it (I STILL think it was one of the best rps Ive ever been a part of).  I don't think I've ever posted any stories here, though I have started a few rp threads.  Either they didn't last very long, or I don't remember having started one.
There was one I can't even remember the name of that I may have started... hmm... it was one of those "chosen" ones that was really fun...

Anyway, some prominent rps I've done: Mage Wars (including the re-make), The Lost Tome, Dance of Blood, The Legend (first two - I helped start the second one), and a bunch of others I can't remember the names of and others that  didn't last very long.

I'm am a member of RPA (which is mostly dead) and am (or maybe, "was") a member of Amplus Scrip-whatever we named it that hasn't really been around for a good while.

I guess what's important is that the name I use is "The Earth Tree" or "[RPA] The Earth Tree" which translates to TET.  So if anyone says "TET" that's me. ^_^

Wow... I write a lot even in a brief description of myself.

(That's another thing, I tend to write A LOT!  I try to keep some things short, but...)

It's Eltara, but yes it's me. And that angel may have been my character, not 100% sure tbh. The story I have worked out now may differ slightly, but it does focus mainly on my character and his quest (and his encounter with the devil etc. tongue)
I would post it already, but I haven't even finished Kryll Wars or continued my Creation story, so let's do that first wink

Re: Meet Your Neighbor

I'm an old new member of RPA, back in it's heavy days. I get confused with the years but it may have been 4 to 3 years since I've been here. I was there at the final MS attempt, Dance of Blood or something like that (one of Eltara's heavy ones) and Art of War (That was cool.)

Just coming back to see how the landscape has changed, can't seem to find ICroleplay, so I'm guessing thats done with.

Re: Meet Your Neighbor

Just like ARFeh, I'm a former member of RPA. My exit wasn't  as hilarious as ARFeh's but it had it's moments. I've been in and around the RP forums for years now. The first RP I remember reading was D-Day. Can't remember the first RPG that I participated in but I've been in numerous ones, most recently Scinfari Sea, and Apocalypse where I was Daemon's Daemon underling, I still have drawings for stuff that Daemon and I were working on for that. And yeah the angel Question is talking about is you Eltie, I remember that post quiet vividly as in your eternal sexiness it was quiet moving.  I've posted a few stories that I wrote, most notably was Power Struggle which had garnered quiet the following by the time I ended part one of it, I started working on Part 2 but lack of real life issues kind made it fail. One RPG that I remember quiet well was Starwars, it started off with a bunch of people but it ended with just Hoitash and Myself posting.

Re: Meet Your Neighbor

I started around 5 years ago, and only about a year and a half ago did I enter the Roleplay area. My first Roleplay was at the Tavern, which led me to Space: The Second Story, and a few others that I can't remember the names of. It was aroudn that time I started to post parts of the book I'm writing which went pretty far, but I haven't put anything up since shortly before the crash.

In the aftermath of the crash, my old account is dead (can't even go through the password recovery) and so I made this one. I'm right now involved in Space: Third Story, the Global Sketchpad and Predator: Unbloods. As well as The New Tau, which I'm still deciding if I want to enter or not.

I also just ended my first round of IC Mafia, which was fun. I wish I could remember the names of about a dozen or so roleplays I was in before the crash, none of them went far at all, but they were some good times.

Re: Meet Your Neighbor

I remember the sinfari sea, that one had some reall potential but I had to go to Turkey when it started going downhill, so I couldnt revive it

Question: Thank you for making me read my old posts of the Apocalyptic Darkness RP again. It totally got me excited again and I will rewrite it soon. Just thought I'd give thanks where it's due ^^

Re: Meet Your Neighbor

I've been with the RP community on and off for some years now (like, at least 4, maybe 5 o_O, can't remember). My first RP was "The Legend II: Drake's Return". Other notable RPs that I've been a part of are "The Dance of Blood" (both iterations), "The Scinfari Sea", "The Legend III: Drake's Legacy" and its sequel "Lok, Lord of Demons", and the entire "Space" series. Among the RPs I've spawned, not including the ones that died rather rapidly, are "The Global Sketchpad" and "A Different Kind of Roleplay".

I've attempted two notable short stories: "The Crisis of Zaroth", set in the TDoB universe, and "Impending Defeat", set in the Space universe.

And, of course, I enjoy reading all of the other contributions and projects of the RP community. smile

Re: Meet Your Neighbor

Currently I'm rewriting my old book, if you guys are still interested (if any of you read the first one) I can start posting it, as I go.

Re: Meet Your Neighbor

How to begin?  I was born at the age of twelve, in a log cabin I helped my father build...
On second thoughts, I'll keep that kind of inconsistency for my stories.  Being an impossibly poor roleplayer, I used my one natural talent when I first posted here years ago: writing stories so bad that people couldn't possible begin criticising them.  Jokemon proved to be (in theory) a success, even despite the fact that the amount of it written by myself dwindled into practical non-existence by episode twenty.  Instead, the far superior script of Final Fantasy 7 was plundered, leading to the main character being referred to as Yuffie for a noticeable period of time.
The far superior (comparatively) Variety Hour was my next story.  As I did such a bad job the first time through (and someone else did a worse second one), I'm rewriting practically the whole thing, in a completely different style, with different storylines and almost none of the same characters.  Still the same one, though.
I don't even know when I'm joking anymore.

You didn't read Neo Variety Hour, so they killed me.  But even death can not stop my awful, awful posts.

I use American spelling, thank you.  Besides, why the 'u' in 'neighbour'?
