Not many people know this, but I own the first radio in Springfield. Not much on the air then, just Edison reciting the alphabet over and over. "A" he'd say; then "B." "C" would usually follow...

I agree with some o fthe commenters that it's probably fake. and not really a bad way to go, compared to bleeding to death from any other sort of explosion.

Just bleeding to death by a stab wound seems horrible enough.
No reason to get an explosion into that.
