Topic: I hate Sprint
I just got off the phone, asking why I am 'owing' so much. I use the internet only a little compared to what I did last year. In December I bought a MiFi card. I also bought a brand new smart phone and got a 900 minute plan that works for me (I do not use the phone that much after all). They asked for a Deposit on the phone since it was a new account (I dropped AT&T who was providing the phone for a sweet phone replacement...)
January they reimbursed my deposit on the wireless account. I did not directly hear this, nor did I notice it was applied to my balance for January (My 1year anniversary with the wireless account with them).
I made my Jan expected payment of $120 and did so for Feb...
I asked for a deferal this March, because my truck broke down (4 days no pay for a lil.. I get comp, but not til later), I was sick for 5 days (no pay, think I might have had that Swine Flu I was so sick), then I drove a load about 120 miles before I had a pretty scary brakes failure (3 days in the shop, no pay til later). All in all the expenses of ordering pizza instead of Subway, of being bored off my mind and getting a couple of movies, was a bit high, so I sought to pay later as I have been a very good customer for them.
They said 'sure you can have til the 17th to pay, thank you for choosing Sprint'
I got shut off last night.
I called this morning, I owe $280 on the spot, and $280 on the 28th. I freaked out. I said, wtf is going on...
Seems I am 'going over my bandwidth allowance of 5 gigabytes a month'. I never went over before, and I was more active then because I was doing a web-campaign growth spurt as a part of my running for office... wtf
Then the kick to the groin... "We can give you 10 gigabytes, instead of your 5 gigabytes, per a month. Currently you are paying $60 a month for 5 gigabytes. For 10 gigabytes a month it will cost $220." Yes I said $220, as in two hundred and twenty dollars...
I am not sh***ing you!
So I have learned why they are losing customers like no tomorrow. They want to die, they want to go out of business. No sane business man would take that deal... only the Government would even consider that deal...
So I talked with T-Mobile (crappy phone machine at the start, tis why I left them 4 years ago...) and they said 'How would you like a free Blackberry, tethering with unlimited bandwidth per a month, an extra 100 minutes, and all for $90 a month?
I am currently paying $120 a month for Sprint, and T-Mobile will give me a good phone, more time, and cost me only $90.
I called Sprint, told them the offer... their counter was... "We can reduce this months bill by $135"... and a big fat nothing else.
DOWN WITH SPRINT! Let the phone and wireless internet revolution begin!!!!!
