No C compiler that compiles sources adapted to that particular distro. Although it's not really a problem for a regular user, it's quite a problem for developpers. wink

They are out there, but they are rare wink Windows is mainly a target cause it represents + 90% of the installed OSes. If you'd look for BeOS virusses, it's even less...

Futurama and Family guy! I think we all saw the simpsons too much by now, and I never really liked southpark (although they have some good episodes)..

Futurama: the first Xmas episode or the one with the intelligent worms in fry's body
Family Guy: the one where Stewy meets his nemesis Bertram
Simpsons: the Hellfish episode
Southpark: the ones where they taking the piss with scientology or mormonism.

"You cant FORCE a person to vote.  That is not Freedom.  As well, the Fringe left or right dont have enough numbers to impact either way."
"you do not HAVE to go to vote. but your moral should make you go."

We're obliged to vote. If you decide not to vote, you receive a small fine. It has nothing to do with freedom though, it's a duty. It has an historic background, and it's a good thing in many ways.

"Again, you discounted the statistical rational.  Its totally relevent.
Crazy fringe groups basically cancel each other out (from both sides), they rarely have a statistical impact."

Not necessarily and defenatly not in Belgium. That would be generalising things a bit too hard, and we have more parties then you have thumbs (about 10 to 12 large ones). That way, those groups do not cancel eachother out tongue

"1.  What is freedom?
Freedom is the freedom to vote, if you want, or not to vote if you do not want to.
Conservatives and the Out of Iraq now croud, may stay home election day, because they feel they are not represented in this election."

It's only your duty to support the party that fits you. If you don't want to, you can cast a blank vote anyway. What is freedom in this discussion? totally irrelevant.

"Also, Elliot.   Even if only 5% of a people, from all over the country vote, this is a Large enough sample to be Significantly accurate when that vote is cast, down to I would guess, .5% statistical significance."

Bollocks. Seperate social groups have a general preference, just as you claimed before wink

"In otherwords, you dont need to FORCE you entire population to vote.  50% of eligable voters, voting will tell the story."

Again, it's only our duty. People have died obtaining these rights, it's only natural to spend 10 minutes to cast your vote.

"I can see bringing in a small percentage of the poor and destitute.
As long as they are law abiding and their children take advantage of a good LAWFUL upbringing."

Criminals lose the right to vote for a certain amount of time wink

My whole point is that America doesn't have protest-voters in the same amount that we do. Those voters are ill-informed, and are lead by the general polarisation that's been instigated by populist politicians. That should stop, not the duty to vote. It's an error in the system, it's an error in the way it's been carried out. The system is a way to defend our democracy, and in fairness it's 10 minutes on a sunday afternoon is not that much of a hassle.

"In other words, immigration needs to be carefully regulated to guarantee that people are admitted not on the basis of pity, but on their usefulness to the economy and ability to adapt within the society they are immigrating to.
The problem with Europe is a hypersensitive empathy. You guys want to go help people and save the world, and that is leading to your downfall."

Bollocks. That has nothing to do with immigration at all. 90% of the islamic people were invited to europe in the 50s and 60s to fill the jobs the economic boom had created.

There's a difference BW. Everyone's obliged to vote over here, while it's optional for you. Many people who aren't interested just don't show up. So there aren't that many protest voters.

That's good news, and in a recent poll, our extreme right-wing-nearly-fascist-but-defenatly-racist-party Vlaams belang is losing votes. A research was done in Belgium about what social groups voted for wich party, and it's indeed true that these near-fascists gather most of their votes from people on unemployed people, the less-paid working class, protest voters and so on (basicly people who have no idea what exactly a party stands for and without a clue of the 'political landscape')

"1500 ??  Seems like a gathering of some minority group that does NOT represent conservative issues."

That doesn't mean they don't get a lot of support. I know Vlaams Belang holds a little less then 20% of the votes (making it the 2nd largest party in Belgium in the last elections), so there actually is a problem.

"Nazis in america are not very wanted but to little a groop to protest against"

There's little difference between Nazis and several organisations like stormfront, the KKK and other pro-segregation movements, who do seem to have found a voice in America..

We can't really call Hugh Hefner young tongue
