Seems like we are pulling figures out of thin air, given that according to UN stats there are currently a little over 7 billion people in the world. Clearly you don't know what science is, let alone understand its basic principles.

As for me supporting the legislation or the premise, I haven't indicated anywhere that I support the tax. I simply stated that Flint's article does not support his standpoint. Your assumptions on what I do or do not support are ridiculous.

Flint, your article indicates that the tax will continue, however that it was due to rise in how much the electricity providers were paying. What they are freezing is the rises in how much the electricity providers will be paying, they will still be paying the current amount of tax on it. That is far from an end, it is simply a lack of further increase.

They are not repealing their carbon tax, they are putting a freeze on rises on the tax. Further, from your aticle:

It is an industry specific tax, and they are getting taxed twice. Once by the UK government and once by the EU. Further, it is an election year in the UK. Simply put, this is a campaigning tactic to say, "We are going to save you money on your electricity bills!"

So in short, they are not backpedaling in any way on global warming, they are in fact buying votes at the expense of the environment, and not increasing further a tax on a specific industry where that same specific industry is already being taxed by another authority.
