Worrying about your cholesterol is fine, but worrying about gaining weight via fat in general is not. It's a safety thing, think of your fatty tissue as a buffer for when you dont have enough energy available during your workout (for whatever reason) to prevent your body digesting itself, which it will do despite your desire to add muscle mass.
How's that for a paradox? ![]()
So leave the fat layer alone, no matter how big it gets, untill you have acheived a muscle mass you are happy with, then you can cut down on the amound of food you eat.
If you can tell me about your exercise regime I might be able to point a few things out, but if you're not going for hardcore muscle building then I doubt it.
