Simple idea, have a different starting time in the two different galaxies, say 1700 GMT in one and 0500 GMT in the other. People can choose which gal they play in to suit their time zone, work schedule, etc. At the moment if you are in Australia you are distinctly disadvantaged unless you care to be up from 3am.
I think it would make for a fairer game play, people could choose.
