The Fuzz, while I agree with you that US citizens have been entirely too complacent to their leaders war-mongering on account of being corporate whores, the fact that the USA is a democratic republic and china is an authoritarian regime of tyrants is significant. The US has problems, but by comparison they're God and His holy angels next to China.

LOL BiefstukFriet. So true.

Our problem is sheeple following/being bought by corrupt, corporate-whore war-mongering politicians. As Cougar points out, there are meritorious actions which the US military has engaged in. There are certainly legitimately good things the US military can do for the world and for itself. But, because we're also frequently involved in bombing pill factories to distract from presidential adultery, wars for corporate profits, etc., we lose a lot of the ability to claim moral superiority.

I certainly value freedom and despise tyranny, but when our government has supported tyranny half of the time, it's hard to make the claim that all of our actions are just. I certainly love this country and the freedoms we enjoy/have fought for, but we have sent our young men and women to die in vain at times. We've had politicians meddling with war efforts, greatly reducing their effectiveness. We've bombed peoples who were no threat to us.

Libertarian or GTFO, bunch of socialist, war-mongering corporate whores. big_smile

We've jacked up every military effort in decades with shitheads in DC pretending they're generals.

If Romney was more than a hair better, I'd give a damn.

It's free speech. Obama is a hateful, racist, socialist schmuck. Talking about this fact is legitimate political discourse.

It's so embarrassing.

You_Fool, forcibly taking from someone and then giving them less in return is not caring for them. It's hurting them. You're arguing that theft... enriches the victim?

"if people are voting for you, you must be doing something right"

hahhahahahahahhaha

Tell that to the Greek populace. What a brilliant observation.

We know Einstein didn't win any debates, seeing as he's entirely unwilling/unable to talk about most topics.

Who is xeno? Because the one who posts here is clearly retarded and delusional. If he's in the top 5% of IQ, my name's Miles Davis.

If you disagree that what I've said isn't fact, I'd like to point you to aliens, self-replicating robots doing 100% of labor, 99% corporate taxes as desirable, the [retarded] notion that companies would continue to function at 99% taxation, the [retarded] notion that 2000+ year ago Greece (generalized, no less) was more egalitarian than it is today.

The list could go on but it's so retarded and so long that if you don't think he's trolling or absolutely retarded... You're retarded or trolling.

Edit: Zarf BeebleBrix, how can anyone be off-topic? This thread has no topic.

Noir, that's racist and hurts people. Disgusting.

Bunch of garbage.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fOaCemmsnNk

No, it's not a consensus. You've provided absolutely no basis for the assumption that it's a credible hypothesis. I questioned your appeals to authority: Repeating them does not make a case for your ignorant claims.

Noir, you're obviously a scientist. Can you link us to your conclusive evidence of man-caused climate change?

I'm tired of the garbage science that our political overlords keep pointing to. I'm an educated man. I understand that correlation of CO2 and temperatures does not equate with causation, especially when we find that CO2 changes tend to lag behind temperature by a hundred years. I'm tired of scientists desperate for government money pretending they don't understand science or basic logic.

Purin, because it's a fraction the price of other sources of energy. Billions across the globe can't afford energy as it is. Telling them they need to pay 5-10x+ more because your political overlords tell you it's for the planet is a liiiiiittle bit elitist and arrogant.

If you're a scientist like Noir, please provide the aforementioned data I asked for. I want to believe. But you haven't offered me any evidence. That many ignorant slobs lazily buy into something is not evidence.

lol @ the sham of pretending they can't find anything to cut before schools/police/firefighters.

Anyone who believes this bullshit is retarded and should never vote or procreate. There, I said it.

LOL @ Bieber reference. Scary, and true, but funny.

I think we should let them have it ("marriage") so they'll shut up. While it's disrespectful to the natural "marriage" of heterosexuals, it won't directly harm anybody nor force you to respect their mental disorder(s).

Ideally I say give them all the legal benefits [partnership] (or, better yet, remove all the legal benefits altogether) without abusing the word "marriage," but that's not enough for a bunch of people angry that they've got a mental disorder and can't create children. So give them "marriage." It's the only way they'll ever shut up. I'm tired of mentally [clucked]-up people whining.

They can't have children. Their "union" is not the natural one of heterosexuals which enables the creation and raising of functional, balanced children. Their "union" is not the natural one of heterosexuals which produces families, the fundamental building block of societies for thousands of years. But Jesus Christ, just make them stop whining.

I love how Obama was for gay marriage before he was against it before he was for it. Hey, Obama supporters: He thinks that so many of you are morons that he has to lie about his positions to get/maintain your support! He's the President of the United States of America, and he has yet to, as they say, grow a pair.

"When are people going to realize that the wealth of the rich have got to get taxed, and that it needs to be harmonized internationally. "

That requires a global authoritarian government. That's evil. Men are corruptible. Such a massive amount of power would be disastrous, allowing for corruption and oppression on a scale never seen before.

Additionally, of the about 50 studies done researching the correlation between economic freedom and prosperity/standard of living, every single one of them found a positive correlation. All relevant data suggests very clear that what you propose has "got" to be done would harm the poor and "middle-class."

Human productivity is not a zero-sum game. That ignorant supporters of oppressive authoritarian regimes like you seek political power and influence is disgusting.

"Countries sell their citizenship like commodities to the highest bidder, and, for this guy, there are literally hundreds of bids for him to pick and choose from."

You're taking issue with his freedom. You're arguing that freedom is a bad thing. What world are you living in? Freedom is moral and economically beneficial to everybody, but you're arguing against it.

You're arguing against freedom with neither a moral justification nor an economic one. Are you even trying? Or is this the best you can do? You're supporting tyranny with neither a moral component to your "argument" nor any reason to believe it would be economically beneficial to anyone. You're supporting slavery just for the sake of supporting slavery.

I don't mean to stop ignoring you or anything, but I just wanna point this out while it's hot:

"I don't see any other solution but to implement an internationally harmonized progressive tax on corporate and individual total NET WORTH and at the same time abolish all regressive taxes including income taxes."

This level of control over people, wealth, and wealth distribution is called Communism.

I think the story here is that so many people are such uneducated, unsophisticated hicks that they think this is news. That we allow silly games like this to go on and pretend everyone shouldn't have known this all along is disturbing.

I'm just poking fun because he's trolling, Zarf BeebleBrix. He refuses to address the vast majority of what's posted in response to him. Yet, at the same time, he has the arrogance to fill his posts with ad-hominem attacks as if he's not a coward who doesn't even address arguments made against him.

It makes him really angry to point out he's trolling--intentionally or not. I think it's funny. smile

The inmate gets 1 vote in the primary, not in the election as you just ignorantly stated. Geeze.

It's getting too embarrassing and pathetic to be funny. sad

I love how you can add up A and X to come up with 10. You don't need information. You've got imagination!

Anyone who questions that math is clearly confused, because you've proven that A + X = 10 god damnit!

West Virginia is a very low population state.

West Virginia voters (including Democrats) are much more sensitive to Obama's war on coal and business in general than, for instance, California/NY Democrats.

How you manage to pretend WV represents the whole nation is beyond me.

She supports the cheap rules in question.

Libertarians principles do not preclude belief in evil or supporting actions to fight it. I haven't ignored anything: You're attacking a straw-man and I am not obligated to defend the straw-man to hold my position.

Libertarian ideas tend to stress the fact that our elected officials -- and, indeed, our electorate -- are not nearly responsible or educated enough to "combat evil" responsibly. The notion that Bush or Obama or Clinton or Bush Sr. were remotely equipped to fight evil responsibly is laughable. They've killed more Americans and foreigners who were no threat to Americans than I care to think about. Combating evil is not out of the picture as a justifiable course of action, but Libertarians are stuck pointing out to murderous zealots like you that you're not doing a good job at fighting evil. Libertarians are stuck pointing out that murderous zealots like you frequently are evil. Maybe some of them would agree with you that evil must be fought, but they're too busy trying to point out to your sheep-like self that you're frequently part of the evil that needs fought.

"Ignoring evil is how Mao rose, Stalin, Lenin, Pol Pot, Hitler, Mousillini (sp?), dozens of African dictators, the Ayohtollah (sp?), Saddam, the Taliban, Bin Ladin, and Imperial Japan as well."

You forgot to mention recent actions in which we bombed the hell out of and even invaded nations which are barely out of the stone-age and were no threat to us. Or pressuring regime change where we're supporting the take-down of evil authoritarians by even more evil authoritarians. Do you know nothing of American history? Half of the time our meddling is unjust, only done in the name of corporate interests which are neither morally defensible nor economically beneficial to America at large. Not exactly free of evil. Half of the time our military matters are messed with by idiot politicians, getting countless Americans killed. Not exactly free of evil.

That you can mention a small handful of examples which were arguably done responsibly and free of evil is not evidence of innocence in the bigger picture nor is it suggestive that we're capable of getting it right more than a tiny portion of the time.

"It is how we grew from a forming nation to a nation needing a civil war... because the founders chose to ignore an evil rather than confront it at that time."

And here you confess absolute ignorance of American history. You obviously have no idea what the founders did, let alone why. You obviously have no understanding of what the civil war was fought over, let alone why. Maybe you shouldn't form opinions based purely on ignorance. You'll be right more of the time and avoid looking like a clueless idiot. Just a suggestion.

"I also showed how drugs can be abused, can be addictive, can result in negative actions on society, which you dismissed out of hand with no true evidence to show that I was incorrect."

I pointed out the ineffectiveness of drug laws in reducing usage by citing unchanged usage rates in nations which used to prosecute drug use and now have it decriminalized. You ignored this. I pointed out that billions are spent on the drug war for no gain. You ignored this. I pointed out that law enforcement personnel lose their lives in the drug war for no gain. You ignored this. I pointed out that innocent civilians not involved in the war are caught in the cross-fire (literally and, mostly, figuratively) lose their lives in the drug war for no gain. You ignored this.

You haven't responded to a single thing I've said on the topic. It's embarrassing.

You "showed" that you're an arrogant prick who thinks having been homeless makes him an expert on drug use and addiction. You "showed" that you think pot has all kinds of effects which science has shown it doesn't. You "showed" that you're an ignorant sucker who wants to bend the world to fit his view, who isn't willing to look at the real world, let alone look at it, think about it, and talk about it. You cited teenagers whining about tummy-aches on a forum as evidence of pot's horrible withdrawal effects. You cited what homeless junkies said as fact, while having no knowledge of science and academic study on the topic.

How cocky and arrogant you are with absolutely no knowledge on most of these topics is disturbing. It explains Bush, McCain, Romney, and Obama. Everyone who says you're right is a valiant warrior of freedom and justice and can be as socialist as he wants, bomb whoever he wants! Everyone who disagrees with you on some topics is evil, misguided, crazy, and clearly wrong. Nevermind that you have no interest in learning about any of the topics you so arrogantly talk about anyway. Nevermind that you're not equipped to nor even interested in educating yourself and being able to make remotely responsible judgements.

You're not even capable of discussing these topics. And you know it: You choose not to respond to them in any way. Yet you're committed. You don't know why you're right--and you certainly won't talk about it--but damnit, you know you're right!

Again, you meant "you're." Learning English will aid you in discussion with the language.

Libertarians support freedom. Libertarians do not support drug abuse any more than conservatives; they're just honest enough to accept the facts of the topic. Since you refuse to address them, there's no sense in repeating them here. They've been presented to you and you've childishly refused to address them in any way whatsoever.

I was simply pointing out that Tea Party support comes from people supporting Libertarian economic ideals. Tea Party support isn't coming from people whose primary motivation is a belief that government should give a damn about sexuality. Tea Party support isn't coming from people whose primary motivation is a belief that we need to waste more human lives and billions of dollars on a failed drug war.

Tea Party support comes from people whose primary motivation is a belief that government should be limited in the scope of its taxation and economic control. On this most important topic tea party and Libertarian ideas agree--Many Libertarians support/are part of the Tea Party movement. Were more attention given to the fact that Scott Walker is anti same-sex hospital visitation rights, his support would fall. If the Tea Party came out and took this stand, its support would fall. Most people are more secure in their sexuality than you; they're not afraid that, without laws against it, they might turn gay.

Your personal attacks are just childish and stupid. It's embarrassing how angry and senseless you get over Libertarian ideals. You absolutely refuse to discuss topics and yet accuse me of not being able make an argument or debate. That's just stupid.
