I agree with mister Brown, would be best to focus on infra early on but keep an eye on the key systems to not have anyone portal there. Possibly clear them with ops untill eco is satisfactory, then try securing some of those systems yourself .

Of course getting spread around the systems will be really important. I wouldn't waste too much early on to get it though. Just imagine, 126 planets would take 126 expos > 2 days of saving expos for the biggest fam atm (10 players). However funding them would probably take some planets of infra so then it'd already take longer :\. Then other fams catch up... and you have yourself a lengthy round.

I'd say around 10 would be best yeah. but we'll see how this works out

24 ticks would be impossible to win as there'd always be someone taking/losing a planet in those systems, resetting the 24 tick count. no one would ever win.

Unless you're willing to jump some fat guy who owns all the planets in those systems with 100 mil soldiers or something crazy like that... But that wouldn't even work as someone that fat would probably take more than 24 ticks to portal up... negating all the soldiers on at least 1 planet, so then that planet could be taken...

in short: 24 hours would be impossible to win.
