the scientific community would of still researched splitting atoms and would of eventually gotten fission right and the millitaries across the world would of eventually weaponized it. also, i think that nuclear weapons have largely been effective at discouraging wars, and have had a very positive effect; without nuclear weapons, there probably would of been many more large and costly wars in the past 65 years. i know the soviet union might not exist in your hypothesis, but if we look at the cold war between the US and Soviet Union, theres practically zero chance that there wouldn't have been an all out war between the two had there not been the deterrence of MAD if they did.

the point of working is to improve your quality of life. work is part of life, so how enjoyable the work is, is part of your quality of life. Different people would be effected by different degrees to different salaries. so the question is if the salary increase increases your quality of life more then the less enjoyable job would decrease it. and then something that is easy not to factor in is if you are currently single, what is enough for you to live happily now is not the same as how much you would need to be happy if you had a wife and family to support.

"ideology is a waste of time. Debating about what values are right is a hopeless waste of effort, because it has no bearing on reality. Politics is, and always will be, about power. "

lol, way to go against yourself. you say ideology is a waste of time and then you talk about your ideology...

/facepalm, that is going to be one noisy case...  but hey. if you want a noisy beast of a looking case, i guess it would be good. the case has fans blowing and sucking in multiple directions, which is going to create turbulance and noise. fans with good air cooling that are quiet have all their fans either blowing front to back or bottom to top so that you have a steady stream of air flowing through your case.

if you're building a $2k pc, i hope you are spending more then $200 on a vid card...

i vote for chris, best pose of the bunch.

the red robin by me has excellent service and will cook your burger medium rare... i can't stand beef above cooked above medium and prefer medium rare.  the burgers are better then the average corporate restaurant burger, but there are plenty of places by me with far superior burgers, the bar with my favorite burger only charges $3.50 with a 7oz patty and if i'm really hungry i'll add a 2nd patty for $2 more and i have yet to find a place that has comparably flavorful burgers to it and i am actively looking....

Chris, there are plenty of places that have no problem cooking a burger to medium rare.  i don't understand how people can stand eating well done beef, it has so little flavor and is dry as hell... i can't stand fast food beef either...

If this is the case, why did you ask the question in the first place?  Is the choice now keep both jobs vs. quit one, or are you telling us that there's only one option, and you're just wasting our time?

he has current job, he has another job lined up for when he has to leave his current job, and he has a third job that he's kinda interested in and has an interview for.... so he's asking which of the two jobs to pick.

i think most likely eventually you will get used to either job and find it boring. But then again, with either job you're probably going to advance and get paid more. And finally, assuming you aren't currently married; what if you get married and have children? will you be able to support your family with the 2nd job?

no, every game company makes games to make money from them...  i never said the reason why starcraft 2 and diablo 3 will suck is because blizzard is trying to make money from them.

starcraft 2 and diablo 3 will suck because this is not the blizzard that made starcraft, the diablo's, and warcraft 1 and 2. they are not making starcraft 2 and diablo 3 because they suddenly came up with an awesome idea how to implement both of them. Activision said you have two valuable IP's you are not milking, make more games with those IP's. So they are making a RTS and a RPG by modern standards in the gaming industry, except they slap the Starcraft IP onto one and the Diablo IP onto the other to make bigger bucks. they are not continuations of starcraft and diablo, they are simply modern games with well known IP's.

you do realize that Blizzard is now part of activision? as for a company that is better then blizzard, Valve is the obvious choice.

a lot of game companies polish their games, and they tend to be the most successful game companies, so to say that polishing a game over many years has nothing to do with making a lot of money is complete BS.

we have sc2 and diablo3 coming out because the IP's are worth a lot of money and Blizzard's boss, Bobby Kotick insists on milking their IP's....

why does blizzard make other games when they have WoW making money? because Activision wants more money, obviously....

i also never said that they rush rubbish out for profit. games that are not polished do not make nearly as much money, it only makes sense to polish them. but polish doesn't make a game good, it just makes it polished. sc2 is polished, world of warcraft is polished; diablo 2 is polished, but diablo 2 is the only good game of the three.

its not like we are talking about bugs or about balance problems, you could obviously expect blizzard to fix those...  blizzard intentionally made it so its impossibe to play outside of anyone in your region other then in a blizzard sponsored event. they intentionally made it so that there are no LAN's even internet authenticated LAN's so that blizzard can prevent organized starcraft 2 events that don't pay blizzard money for it.

ok, i loved starcraft, i loved diablo, i loved diablo 2, i loved warcraft, and warcraft 2, but all those games are at least 10 years old.... what have they done in the last decade? warcraft 3 and world of warcraft. warcraft 3 was a failure of a rts and its only saving grace was that a fan developed DOTA with it.  World of Warcraft to say it was commercially successful is an understatement; but you know how many people that actually played mmo's before WoW likes the game? very few... its a very polished game, which has made it very noob friendly, but thats really the only thing wow has for it, its polish.

Blizzard of today is not the Blizzard of the diablo's, the original starcraft, and the first two warcrafts; its the blizzard of WoW; it is a giant machine lacking soul and originality and is poised to milk their IP's for as much money as possible.

i was in the beta....     not impressed by the game. i was impressed by all the custom "maps" already out. if Blizzard were not being complete nazi's regarding the game, i'd definitely get it, especially because i can get it for free; but because they are being nazi's about it, i probably won't even get it for free.

How does this disprove anything about evolution?

The Bardia Mammoth is widely believed to be a recent mutation to a group of elephants that live in a certain area. Which is pretty much what evolution is about.

The 2nd link shows us pictures, pictures of what? A lot of them just look like pictures of lizzards of some sort.
Besides, there are still dinosaurs alive, look at the crocodile, the komodo dragon and the shark is even from around that age, if i recall.
Not to mention the fact that bodies can be preserved in mud and ice pretty well, so they could have found bones, or even "mummies".

And I think this whole post completly lost all credibility (and that goes for you too) when you posted a link to yahoo questions as proof.

dinosaurs were supposed to have gone extinct 65 million years ago while man supposed to have started walking on the earth closer to 10k years ago, even if you give humans way more time on the earth, say we have been on the earth for 7 millions years...  58 million years is still way too long for a naturally preserved corpse to last.

while crocodiles, komodo dragons, and sharks did exist during the age of dinosaurs, they are/were not dinosaurs. also, the pictures provided were not pictures of crocodiles, komodo gradons, or sharks...

lol, poor, niave, born2bwild....

ok, slaves.... what does born mean by that? are the poor forced to make the rich richer? no, the poor typically cost society, including the rich, money. they have no job and rely on charity for food, shelter, and they are unable to pay for the medical care they receive. the only people that could be argued to make the rich richer are the rich, the middle class, and the working classes.

first lets point out that wealth isn't finite. there isn't a definite amount of wealth and the rich are not ah hah! we increased the percent of wealth we have by taking more from the poor. every time someone increases efficiency, they are creating more wealth. when the same work can be accomplished through lower cost, cost becomes more valuable because more can be done with it. so every improvement to every industry generates wealth. who increases efficiency? typically the middle and the upper class... if anything the rich and the middle are servants to the poor and working classes because the middle and rich's efforts make the poor and working classes wealthier.
