I agree.  99% of people think its best, and try to do it, and can't handle it.  And like you said, screw it up and it hurts them even more.  Thats kinda what I said.  The only difference what you and me are saying, is I see your system/idea as improving Fam Bank (because your system makes everything available all the time).  I'd rather get rid of it.

Fam Bank didn't just crop up like you said with PP or whoever.  It's a strat thats evolved.  From individual play -> team play -> fam bank system.  The teams (when we used to play with banker-attacker, then banker-attacker-resourcer), grew more and more efficient and encompassed more ppl.  This turned into Fam Bank.

Tbh, if it were entirely up to me, and yes, perhaps a bit radical, I would get rid of it altogether.  I would disable aid, and redesign races (or make them less variant on specialisation), and make people bank and attack for themselves.  This is how it used to be in the early rounds and in my opinion, the most fun.  I'd still have the Families, because teamwork is an important aspect and makes the game fun.

But I'd love a shift of IC where it wasn't so reliant on your fam.  Why should my empire and round suffer because of inactivity of others?  I'd love to be able to do my own infra, and attack whenever I want too.

So now, instead of 1-2 ppl doing that, who have only access to bank once given it to them, all players can just do w/e they want, with everyones aid.  Doesn't make too much sense to me.  At least, it's not efficient.

If I was leading a fam, and playing for the win, I would definitely not want people to take w/e they want from whoever.  And then if you limit it only those who you give access to, then you're creating outcasts already.

Fam Bank system is definitely broken ...it hinders individual play and not good for mediocre and low fams.  However, if played properly, it is definitely the most efficient eco way to play atm.

Effectively, with your method, you may as well have everyone be able to log into everyone elses account.  Except you don't have to build for people.

h4e makes a good point, largely the problem is with people not getting what they need for the tickly-type activities, like portals, lasers, upkeep, food, etc.  Again though, we only have these limitations cos peoples activity.  If everyone was SS, it wouldn't be an issue! (possibly not the solution though - just saying).

I agree that it could be useful, and it's already been suggested.

But I also think, that if you're teaching a pop banker ...you should teach them properly   Pop banking isn't just about building LQs and TOs!

Yea, they're gonna be beastly in attackers vs attackers, imo.
