I don't want to get in to whether a state is justified in separating from a union, because much of that talk is too abstract for me. But, I will say that states that try to secede tend to get owned, and if any US state tried to secede it would probably suffer federal retaliation and also get owned.

The empirical evidence suggests that since the 1970s, when the US instituted government controlled health care reform, the cost has gone up and the quality of service has gone down.

Case closed.

Now why did we pass these reforms? I have a theory on this. It was about control and power, and the HMOs and such became extremely profitable.

Edit: Ron Paul addresses the poor question in one of his interviews. When he was working before the 1970 reforms, the poor still got health care. The costs were down (that's what the free market does), and for those who couldn't afford typical care there were options such as church hospitals.

Yes our health care sucks. Listen to Ron Paul.

veterans choosed to be soldiers (except if drafted). in peace time a nice job. in war times risky. if a soldier gets wounded/killed than it is the risk of his individual choice. if a roofer drops from the ladder and breaks his backbone, who cares for him? the us-gov? thats one of the risks in a roofers life. the risk in a soldiers life is the same.>

In my case, I respect the military for the benefits it confers to me. Our political leaders control a powerful military organization, which they use for our economic benefit. In turn, I receive a small piece of the wealth of an empire. My life as a westerner is improved by the fact that troops of my country volunteer to whipe out my nation's enemies. So to me, I feel it's only appropriate that men and women who serve in the military be given such wonderful benefits after years of service.

As for poor people, they can go die. They're all a bunch of slothful, promiscuous, and ignorant hipsters.

I'm sure you would prefer me as your emperor than Obama as your president, and you have yet to eliminate Obama.

But... one of my professors said he's never seen someone so capable of succeeding but determined not to quite like me, so I wouldn't worry about it.

There's nothing wrong with dictatorships, but for some odd reason dictatorships of modern history have been associated with ideologues and totalitarianism. For example, Mao, Hitler, Stalin and so on were driven by a crackpot ideology, and they weren't like the generally mellow autocrats of old. Another thing modern dictatorships have been associated with is corruption. While they promise a more efficient state, they instead end up assigning position on nepotism rather than merit, and basically they just mass up enough money so they can resign and live somewhere else, lol.

Although, a lot of traditional monarchies, such as Saudi Arabia, aren't so bad. They aren't totalitarian, although they are authoritarian. Nevertheless, given their political climate, it's hard for them not to be. Another thing associated with traditional monarchies is the erosion of the monarch's power to the point where they only exercise executive power, and then later they are usually either overthrown or reduced to constitutional monarchs.

I do have a theory about this though. Usually charismatic dictatorships are tyrannical, because the charismatic dictator is usually egotistical and it was his ideology that brought him to his position. In the case of traditional monarchies, well, usually somewhere along the monarch's line the successor just doesn't give a crap or he's an idiot.

The autocracies that work, it seems, are the ones where the autocrat possesses an exceptional ability to solve problems and manage the state. As long as the autocrat merits their power in some way, it typically works out fine. But charismatic dictatorships, crony nuts, or idiot monarchs just aren't cool.

It's a perfect reason why you should never elect a working class person. They are always demagogues.

The elite always know what's best.

If I were president, my motto would be "I'm here to maximize America's power." Likewise, I would enforce a monopoly on nuclear technology for the status quo, and topple any third world country that challenged it. Furthermore, any country in America's periphery (Central/South America) that tried to disrupt the balance of power by being too close to Russia and China would also have their governments toppled.

Otherwise, abortion would remain legal, government would become more efficient and relax regulations on the economy (resulting with lower taxes), meritocratic reforms would be instituted such as the outlawing of affirmative action and limiting immigrants to those that speak English and have a desired skill (America would deny all refugees), and only pay attention to those calls for social reform if the issue is serious or has a net benefit. This means gay marriage and so on would be dismissed as frivolous issues not worth the effort.

Lastly, I would tell the religious reformers to piss off. I would ban abstinence education, guarantee the status quo on abortion, and also guarantee the status quo on the separation of church and state (although its possible I would make some minor secular reforms).

I'm voting for Lizon when he turns 35.

I give the Onion a lot of credibility. They're more credible than CNN.

Yes, France was a major power for most of European history. It wasn't until after the Napoleonic Wars that they declined, although they recovered in WW1. The main reason they lost in WW2 was because of inferior tactics. The German army was much more mobile and had superior generals, and so they basically outmaneuvered the French quickly. Another problem France had was a low birth rate, so they had to conscript much older men in order to match Germany's military.

Nonetheless, France has historically suffered some of the most humiliating defeats. The Hundred Years War and especially the Battle of Golden Spurs. Still, though, it's fun to make fun of France. It's an Anglo and American tradition.

As you can see, working class people are uncivilized and should not be allowed to vote. Thanks for proving my point, Flint.

What's amusing is that the left considers Apaio a racist and violator of human rights, and after hearing their arguments I can't say that their charges really follow from their arguments.

I mentioned that. I said the working class almost invariably voted for Obama.

Since the working class maggots and hipsters repeatably vote based on charisma and do not have the intelligence to analyze the issues, I say that their voting rights be indefinitely suspended.

Now let me humor you on the stupidity of our working class. I invite you to watch the "common videos" from the RNC on you tube. While "intelligentsia" speakers generally have more intelligent things to say, you will notice that what common protestors have to say are stupid and are from working class people.

Even dumber things are said from "common speeches."

Have this for a start haha. "Republicans... racism"

Yes it is. The other classes had mixed feelings, but the working class almost invariably voted for him.

Excuse me? None of the above were born in to working class families. The only exception is Cornelius Vanderbilt, and part of the reason he rose to power was because of his lucky opportunities (hehe govt contracts during the War of 1812).

Lizon,

The uneducated masses are, stupid. They vote on emotion, convention, and they voted for Obama for reasons that were not well thought out.

For me that's reason enough for why they should be denied the right to vote.

I wish I could stand on the front lines of a hipster riot and open fire on the maggots. I would eat hipster soup smile.

Only the working class wanted Obama. They don't count, because they shouldn't have voting rights in the first place. The founding fathers denied that right to the masses for a reason. Now Thomas Jefferson's fears have come true. We have a dirty demagogue.
