well it just goes to show how important female testimony is because there apparently isn't a reliable physical test of virginity.  They say.

It's sadly only a matter of months before Obama puts his foot in it so often that you can make a desk calendar of his screwups

Sure.  And the dozen or so flames that goad them, as it may happen.

One stray steer is a maverick, fifty stray steer is a stampede.

This thread is about Barack Obama being a liar, and opinions on that, and opinions on other posters' opinions.  That can get boisterous, but if we get a page about the personal qualities of one or two guys and not the subject then there needs to be a correction made.

"The Jungle" is the one about the meatpacker, right?

Sinclair was pissed off that nobody gave a damn about the poor immigrant workingman and his struggles that he wrote the novel about, everybody howled about food quality.

What I'm doing is talking, you hear?
I'm talking to all those villains down there in Kansas.
I'm talking to all those villains in Missouri.
And all those villains down there in Cheyenne.
And what I'm saying is there ain't no flame wars in IC Forums.
And if there was, how they wouldn't want to come looking for it anyhow!

No need to kill him, just have him impeached for continuing the illegal Iraq war Hillary voted for.

I'm very sad to say it seems more likely than not that he'd accept her, it shuts up so many critics who want to pretend she was cheated.  And if they link up they'll trounce McCain.  His best shot was "I'm not Barack or Hillary' but he's blown that by agreeing with them on so many issues.

"learn history. Dred Scott was the slave and was the plaintiff. and he tried to "sue" his slavemaster, not a state or all the southern states. the southern states did not have any power over the ruling. it was purely supreme court."

You're right about the parties.  However, the legal principle was that a free state had no authority over property in another state; and that when property in one state was moved to a different state, it must remain property everywhere in the United States.   That is hardly an affirmation of states rights over federal encroachment.  The situation Lincoln stepped into was already a boiling cauldron of resentment at the Federal authority denying any Northern or western community the right to oppose slavery.

"it was a tyrant forcing federalism over states rights. outlawing slavery in the rebelling states was just a way for Lincoln to cripple their economy to punish the south. He was no saint."

Actually the slave states sued to the Supreme Court to ensure that every state, whether it wanted to or not, accepted slaves as chattel property of their masters.  That was the Dred Scott ruling that invalidated the Missouri Compromise of 1850
