US is spending much much much higher any chinese government and so far all i see is US using their military power to push other countries around. yup you call that peaceful development............................how about kiss my ass? or and i forgot the most importatn point, "only US is allowed to build and spend shit load of cash on mililary".

and im happy that australia is building up military too. i dont care if australia is worried about china or not, as long as australia stop relying on US and kissing up US ass like that old fool john howard (however you spell his name, hate him that i dont even want to learn to type his name properly) did. i didnt hate bush as much as i hate howard..........................in fact i thought bush is pretty funny for the mistakes he made  big_smile.

hahahaaha and i got some free cash from kevin rudd, off to spend it big_smile. to be honest i dont think cash bonus is going to boost economy that much. better off spending it somewher more useful.

Awww, isnt the little baby cute. QQing because his country is a failure compared to the US, dont worry, there kid, your women are whores and sell themselves cheap, so that we can provide them with a better lives then the shit ones, that was the best, your incompetent ancestors could provide you with; being complete failures.

Also, only reason why bush was near the 80% was becouse of 9/11 and the feeling of 'brotherhood' it gave"

and the only reason Obama is so high is because of the economy, and the feeling of 'brotherhood' it gives.

i think you need to read the definition of reward. rewards are given, awarded to people. helping people because it makes you feel better, isnt you expecting a emotional reward because it isnt given to you, it is a natural side reaction you have to the good deed. and i dont think i've ever heard someone who claims to be Altruictic whether thinking of my definition or yours and a third, that denies getting any positive emotional response from doing it.

what definition of altrusim are you using? im using "the deliberate pursuit of the interests or welfare of others or the public interest." it being gratifying does not make it unaltruistic. a personal interest in the public interest is not contradictory, infact for someone to volunteer, they must have a personal interest or else, they wouldnt of volunteered, so its not only not contradictory, its mandatory.

Clearly you're too bright for them, because the logic of that argument is lost on even my almost-par intellect!>

Lol it's not an argument. It's a statement. The meaning of that statement is that almost no human is altruistic, and those who claim to be are typically trying to hide their selfishness.

its a stupid statement. we are extremely social beings. to claim that altruistic behavior cant bring joy to people is bs; being such a positive influence on someone else's life, can be extremely gratifying.

there is no single best way to live your life. humans arent identical and theres no single best solution to the problem of how to live your life. i think the people thinking they will be happiness once they gain a certain lvl of wealth or power are in for disappointment though; there is no logical basis for believing so, the desire for wealth is just a construct of the society, that helps keep economic growth as rapid as it is. there is no material thing that magically creates happiness. i think overall you have to create fulfilling relationships with the people that surround you, this might be, by going to the less fortunate and helping them out, or it might be buying things for others, it could be having a family and raising children, or it might just being what you think is what a good friend should be.

Many small business don't have a large profit margin--businesses just getting by, which is most small businesses, don't have a lot of room to pay more in taxes before they're not profitable and cease to exist. Responding to higher taxes, their options are to raise prices and risk losing business or not make a profit and run out of money, going out of business. But this is never addressed by our President, intellectually dishonest turd of a man that he is.

yep, very dishonest man; said he wouldnt raise taxes on anyone ecept top 10 or 5% and he raised taxes even on the bottom 10%.

spending just taxes businesses and people, making businesses less likely to survive, and worsening the quality of life of the population

free market economy doesnt work for agriculture because when prices go down on food, people dont eat more food, the demand stays constant.

it is amazing, according to Barak, spending is gonna get us out of this economic crisis, so why would he cut spending? he must be secretly trying to destroy the economy.

this is something, that i've found very annoying with politicians. we're in an economic crisis, and they have no qualms wasting money. whether its nancy pelosi being the first person in her position to get a government issued private jet or whether its Obama traveling across the country to win votes for the next election.

it wasnt because you did this, its because they didnt like you. they dont like you, and they distort the rules to punish you; if they like you and they distort the rules to protect you.  so while, you might of caught hell for doing exactly what iluvatar is doing, it is very likely nothing happens to him.

abunch of people scared of change. oil will be replaced, there are lots of solutions, and most of them are only failing because they dont have the infrastructure in place because they cant compete with Oil. once oil becomes scarce enough, we will have something to take its place, at first it will be more then oil, eventually when we get the methods down and do it on a mass scale, it will probably be cheaper then oil is atm.
