He means attacking a non NAPPED family in someone elses core.  With the intention of giving that planet back to the NApped fam as a core breach.  This is a standard tactic in IC.

I don't like this idea really, I've never been on the opinion of making 'cores' formalised through the game.

Ya, it might solve a lot of headache of solving people checking where to explore and stuff - but in my opinion, if your fam is not adept enough to know where or where not to explore, then you should suffer the potential consequences.  After all, there's nothing forcing you to make a NAP with 'cores' anyway.  It's just a gamestyle which has been adapted.

In addition, the intention with the new IC map was to be able to share lists together.  There's no reason why a leader/orgniser/whatever can't make a list of systems not to explroe in, and then share this with the fam.  That way it's all consolidated in one area.  This could also be flipped to make a leader show others where is 'good' to explore.  Sharing lists with your own family is already something Stefan has implemented.

Okay, so re-read a lot on what happened.  And then had a chat with Nolio and a few others in chat.

Summary:

I think what TBO did was utterly stupid.  The point of a pressuring and voting is to find out voting patterns and what not.  We dont need to kill two people for this purpose and its a big risk.  Especially upon your own admission of, trying to kill two mob based on 'gut'.  Anyway, stupid, however, I think that your still not mob.  Or at least, not convinced.

Regarding the whoel WC thing.  Nolio's logic doesnt make sense.  He's willing to risk WC at the sake of being back at square 1 (if wc is town).  The assumption is that ER knew something.  This cannot be the case as 1) ER was townie, 2) this was Day 1.  E.g. both cops would have had either 1 investigation.  So either proven that ER was town (to trust him) or proven that someone else was mob (but then can't trust ER to use for that).

Either way, i believe TBO is being set up here, and looking at the votes it seems pretty clear to me.  KT, your MO never changes, but we all still love ya!

Voting KT

There is close to bugger all that can be figured out from the way ppl vote on day 1.

Here is where your thinking is wrong.  It may not be evident immediately, but it can help later on as the game progresses.

Also, there's always the chance something comes up once somoene is pressured and asked for reasoning on stuff (e.g. Why ddi flint post what he did?  Why did he not answer my questions?  Why did ER tie the votes? Why did TBO want to kill two people? etc).

Another example is last game. Look at first day voting, it helped us uncover Arby (mob) trying to kill Flint.  Even Nolio admitted that he was doing the same thing and that was also a mistake (though noone pinned him as mob for it, except flint (but that doesn't count)).

Well, Arby's set this game up to have a lot of actions at night.

So, lol, lets see what happens.

You did town no favours ER, pushing for someone to get lynched is mobbish no matter the the outcome of the other being lynched...

I disagree with your view here.  Pushing for someone to get lynched (or what I always say, express their opinion) is a great way to reveal what's going on.  Yes, it worked out badly in this case, but we know a hell of a lot more now than we would ahve with people just randomly voting with 1 vote and then someone dying with only 2 votes on them.  That's completely anti-town behaviour.  It's just a pity that the actual townies we have in IC mafia, don't realise this.

"1. TBO doing his vote switch was intentional to make a tie and see 2 people go home. thats either mobbish or incredibly dumb. i am willing to lynch for either of those reasons.

Very, very bad.  The idea is to expose voting patterns.  Getting two people killed as a result, is very anti-town behaviour.  He may not be mob, we all know TBO could be  the other option!

"2. While I am not sure what role Zarf is, there were a few of us chatting in #mafia and the decision came about to NOT vote flint and do WC instead. When Zarf seen the vote by TBO to tie it he quickly shifted and went flint. Could it be that it was planned? sure...I don't have a full opinion on that yet."

Zarfs smarter than he lets on, is my view.  Not sure with the history of this, since I was away for the tie.

"3. ER was pushing hard to save flint. So don't be surprised if he dies tonight. Just sayin doc...get on it?"

Pushing hard to save flint, or pushing hard to kill WC?  Given he wanted others to vote WC, and he even wanted WC to die before.  ER was trying to not make a tie, he was trying to get someoene to switch at end of phase.  Either way, can't really get a read on ER atm.

"4. Torq was pushing very hard to kill flint. Could it be that he knew something? Or did he have trust issues from the get-go cause of flint's history? cops...that should be you!"

I wasn't pushing at all, let alone "very hard".  In forum I pointed out why his behaviour was odd and he didn't have any responses to my questions, refer:  http://www.imperialconflict.com/forum/viewtopic.php?pid=1629819#p1629819 .  Yea, he might have been away or whatever at the time, but he's the one who wrote all that in the first place.  If anything, I put up the most arguments for someone. Granted, it was wrong - but noone came in and said "yea, torq is right" or "we agree with torq".  Yet for some reason, we find Flint lynched.

"If ER dies tonight, then TBO should probably be an easy first lynch."

Try to stay away from this thinking.  A lot can happen overnight - and we need to relook at what happens.  Because, if TBO is not mob, mob can easily use such arguments and what not, to end up getting a free mislynch.

Okay, so now a hell of a lot has gone on.

Was TBO trying to get two people killed?

Tis a good idea to increase cooperation between allies

No, not really tongue

But now that I think about it.  Joker would only Jailbreak a townie, or Mob 2.  He'd never do his own, for fear of his secrets being revealed.  So yea, so far I see this not helpful at all.  If anything, I'd say its a bad thing for town.  As it stands right now, if I was Batman, I prolly wouldn't even lock up anyone, tbh.

Okay, so had a chat with Poley.  Although it's really wierd, he's explained to me what he's doing -_-.  Satisifed for now.

Changing vote to Flint.

Flint, can you please explain these things in your posts, I'm curious:
"Last night in chat his behavior was decidely non-helpful."
Which behaviour are you referring to?  I barely recall talking much Mafia stuff 'last night', and not with you at all.

"Normally when he is town he tries to unite and get people not to bandwagon."
Firstly, no I don't do this.  I point out flaws in peoples voting.  I have nothing wrong with a bandwagon forming so long as people have reason to do so.  The reason itself could just be to pressure the person or others to make a choice.  What I hate is people who throwaway votes - cos its not really helpful.

Secondly, please also explain, how, if you believe this, I am to stop people not to bandwagon, when night isn't even over, andnoone has even voted?

"His behavior last night was enough for me to tell a few others I felt he was mafia before my big post."
Please clarify on my behaviour.

"Keerb usually Torqez eases hysteria acting, stops fishing efforts, and acts as a peacemaker. Whenhe is truly fired up he also coordinates strongly for the town."
Please also explain this, given Night 1 not even being over.

"He is actually inciting chaos and disorderin chat and with his post."
You say I'm doing so, by saying that you had no need to post about 'auto lynching' and that I consider you as a mob?  Firstly, where is the chaos? I said I think you're mob.  Secondly, why would I use you to 'incite chaos', when Nolio, Arby and KT, all tried to do the same last game, and were all mob.

My post, was a direct response to yours because I found it odd.  Besides that, our interaction has been minimal (if at all?).

lol @ everyone thinking all top families farm. Our fam (7878) hasn't touched anyone.

Given the equal pcounts at the top, I assumed other top fams were similar (ie, just planets from expos).

Also, does noone have a view on how batman's ability helps town?

I suppose if they lock mob, it'd be good. But this early in the game, bit of a gamble, and then you empower the Joker to recruit 1 more.

Anyone?

Sadly fail logic I can expect from Flint (e.g. I'm supposed to stop bandwagons before anyone has even voted, let alone night 1 not even being over, lol, or I'm supposed to band town together yet I'm role fishing? Again... Before the game has even started? )

However, I cannot accept fail logic from you! You know how I play, and know I'd be an asset (if you were town too), so 'testing the waters by killing me' is a pretty big gamble.

Voting Poley!

Btw, is it just me, or does the "pro-town" Batman's role ...not really seem that pro ..town? hmm

I mean ..if he keeps locking ...there's 40% chance that the jail breakee turns mob? I havn't figured out how Batman's role can be helpful yet.

My opinion?

Flint = 99% Mob this game.

"Autolynching" was never on the cards.  There were two mob who were pushing you to be lynched last game, and it was just a ruse to cause confusion.  Noone has ever said that autolynching is a good idea.  You can't lynch someone based on the grudges of previous game.  And those that use that as an excuse, are either covering for something or really not playing in the interest of their own side.

Either way, attempting to vote to lynch someone is putting pressure on someone and guaging how they and the voters react.  It gives a hell of a lot of info which may not help immediately, but helps later on once all collated.

Anyway, pretty sure you're smarter than thinking you need to have said that.

Observation (didn't take long, there's like 20-30 fams total).  Did that a few times.

We 'could' actually find out the usage though, pretty easy.  In fact, we actually used to have a 'Races used' % thing in the old Rankings page.  Show you % of each race used, Each of the premade races, and then one for "Custom".
