When it comes to respecting people for being honourable and playing fair. It basically comes down to the leader alone. The rest of the family almost always hides behind their leader and only if they are leader themselves it shows their true colours. The loyal and honourable leaders that still exist, deserve that respect for sure.

But beyond that? I suppose there are a lot of decent players left, but how many real skilled players are there left to respect? Most of them either farm or just appear good because they just have way more fleet (have a better family) or break a nap or similar agreements.

True greatness is giving it when others don't deserve it.

Perhaps you are right. I have always tried my best and projected that on my family members as much as I could. I do think I am not the only who likes to win a game for real and without using dishonourable methods. The times my I did win, I managed to do so. In the end I probably have played this game more rounds active than most of the players around and maybe there was never honour and it is just me who has changed, but apparently now after all those rounds I feel that it has been enough.
