I'd like to play in a 3-5 player team again. I'm tired of family bank and think i'd have alot more fun in the team setting (as would most people if they bothered to play for fun over trying to win at any cost)

Wondering if anyone else wants to? I'd be going as a banker

Destiny - "Extragalactic Ancient exploratory vessel launched from Earth several hundred thousand years ago"

In the second episode of SGU season 2 the manifestation of a disappereared doctor on Destiny states that Rush has forgotten to adjust the shuttle's stamina for the "million or so years" of wear and tear.

Tria (From SGA) - "Half-way through their journey, while caught in the deep void between the Pegasus and Milky Way galaxies, the Tria's hyperdrive failed. Instead of limping back into Pegasus, Helia chose to press on at point 999 the speed of light. Though a million years would pass around them, they would return to Earth in less than 25 of their years."

It states halfway through the Daedelus found them. So that ship had been travelling for 500k years or started coming back to earth the same time the Destiny was launched.... But it used ZPMs and had all those advancements....

c. Stargate writers don't understand the concept of a timeline (which isn't surprising from these writers...)

They had to have gone to the Ida galaxy also. Thats how the Asgard had a Stargate on their homeworld (when O'neill downloads the database the first time and gates to the Asgard homeworld in Ida)

A piece that is bothering me is the timeline of Ancient technology. The Destiny is supposed to be really old, it's got the oldest gate design, old systems, ugly design. Yet it's got the Kinos and a gate remote that shows nearby gate addresses and dials the gate. From what i gather the Destiny is around a million years old.

So how is it the million year old ship has older gate tech and such then the Atlantis city ship and all of the ships used in pegasus by the lanteans?
"The city itself is capable of space flight, and originally resided on the surface of Earth, on the continent that became Antarctica. Between five and 10 million years ago the Ancients left Earth with the great city, bringing it to a planet in the Pegasus Galaxy."

5-10 million years ago for Atlantis to move. But the Ancients had already seeded Milkyway with stargates prior to the move, so the MW stargates are all at least 5-10million years old. Which means, based on gate tech, the Destiny ship and it's seeders should all be considerably older.

New aliens! My guess... The Ancients enslaved the Furlings as navigators on their ships and covered up by saying they were unmanned (not unfurled...)

unfurled... roflmao

With an ingame NAP signed they should be able to op you. Last time that happened to a family i was in the mods stepped in and threatened the offending players with temp blocks (after i contacted them about it)

You can't kill another family's inactive players unless it's in a Hardcore galaxy (SD)

lol you guys...

48 hour rule is applied to the beginning of the round or when a player joins a family. He can't be deleted until he's been in the family for 48 hours.

If you can't kill him and he's been in the family for more then 48 hours he's either blocked by the mods or he entered vacation mode

I suppose I wouldn't say anything if I had ever cheated. What you described it basic IA outlined in united news forum. Has been that way for a long time so pleading ignorance doesn't go far.

Remember most of the.planets ruled by the goauld the local pop wouldn't want to be around the gate when things come through. Local pop wouldn't be able to understand the way the gate dials without being taught by a goauld. And most of the time when things came out it would mean your going to owe a tribute or there is going to be killing.

Really its the goauld who retard advancement on planets with humans. There are a lot of planets who have cast off the goauld and advanced pretty quickly. The tollan are probably the ultimate example (rip :-( )

Stargate Universe b sgu

I didn't like it initially but watched it because it was the only new Stargate on. Once season 1 ended i went back and watched the episodes again and ended up liking them more.

It's still got the "omg we are all going to die, we have no idea what is what on this ancient ship, there's no hope. Oh wait, i press this button and everything is ok? We're good." style of writing to get them out of jams (which i hate... lazy writers).

Like on Stargate Atlantis, i think they've fast  tracked the humans knowledge and understanding of the ancient systems too quickly. The best part of Atlantis was the struggle to survive from the first season. If anything the SGU crew should be at a huge loss with only 1-2 people who can translate Ancient and even fewer technical people.

Probably the niftiest part of SGU are the communication stones and how they use them. Hoping season 2 gets progressively better like season one (for the most part)
