The story

The town of Capo d'Orlando was a tourist mecca for Sicily. But recently, the mafia had been making a push into this territory. They wanted to take this town for themselves, they deserved it, they were entitled. Vincenzo Corleone sat in his mansion high up on the hill. He had been set the task by Salvatore Riina, the boss of bosses, to move his family to that location and take the town for their own. Vincenzo Corleone wasn't alone, his family were present with him. He looked over at his brother, Luciano Corleone. His brother was a brutal man, he knew this, but that didn't change the love he held for his brother. His cousin Stefano Corleone was sitting further down the table, playing with a knife. Stefano was an older man, but good with knives. Stefano had brought his sons with him to Capo d'Orlando, it was time for them to take part in the family business. Giovanni and Vito were tall and lanky, but they were out to prove themselves to their father. Vincenzo stood up and everyone went silent. "It is time," Vincenzo stated. Giovanni and Vito blanched, they understood the bloodshed that was coming. Capo d'Orlando would never be the same again.

Meanwhile, elsewhere in Capo d'Orlando, Primo was making passionate love to a beautiful young lady. As he was enjoying himself he didn't notice her grab a dagger. The femme fatale drove her knife into the base of Primo's skull, severing his spinal cord. Primo died with a smile on his face, never knowing quite what had gone wrong. The femme fatale wiped her knife off on Primo's bed sheets, walking out with his body lying on the floor. This would not be the first victim of her ruthless pleasures.

The town of Capo d'Orlando woke to find the mayor tied to the fountain in the centre of town. The waters of the fountain were running red with the mayor's blood. The town looked to their deputy mayor, who was pale. There was a rose in the mayor's teeth. The deputy mayor knew what that meant. The Corleone family had struck the town to the core. All day the town were going backwards and forwards, trying to decide on what to do. As the day finished, the deputy mayor spoke to the town. The deputy mayor looked around, amidst all the confusion. The whole town was there. The deputy mayor called for quiet. "We need some time to think, everyone go home and think about who might have committed these heinous offences. Tomorrow morning we will try and avenge our town."

WHAT THE ROLES DO

Godfather
Vincenzo Corleone chooses who to kill each night phase, and which member his family will complete the kill. If investigated Vincenzo Corleone's identity will be revealed. If targetted to be killed at night Vincenzo Corleone will survive the hit.

Mafia special role
Luciano Corleone has a reputation as a brutal man. He has the power to target one person during a night phase to kill them. If Luciano Corleone targets someone to be killed with this special one time hit they will die, irrelevant of whether they were being healed or immune to other night kills. Luciano Corleone is well protected at night time, and if attacked during the night will survive the FIRST attempt on his life. THESE POWERS CAN ONLY BE USED ONCE DURING THE GAME

Mafia members
The Mafia members will work to take the town of Capo d'Orlando for their own.

Cops
The local cops understand that something's up. They've gone undercover to try and work out who the mafia members are. Each night phase the cops will choose one person to investigate. If they investigate Vincenzo Corleone his identity will be revealed, however if they investigate the Femme Fatale then this role wil appear as a townie.

Doctor
The doctor believes that all life is sacred. Each night the doctor will head out and attempt to save someone's life. The doctor cannot heal the same person two nights in a row.

Serial Killer
The Serial Killer is a Femme Fatale with an insatiable blood lust. Each night the SK will target one person in an attempt to kill them. If the SK targets Vincenzo Corleone he will survive this attack. If investigated the SK will appear to be a town member, and if the target of a mafia hit the SK will survive. The SK can be killed by Luciano Corleone's special ability. During the day the SK will attempt to sew mayhem and lynch mafia members and town members alike!

Town Members
Each night the town members will be shaking in their boots, hoping that the Corleone family doesn't pay them a visit. During each day phase the town members will attempt to root out the members of the Corleone Family and obtain vengence.

The Rules

- Your objective is to rule Capo d'Orlando; to do this, you must eliminate your opposing faction.

- Mafia is allowed 1 kill each night; they will win if they kill all townies and the serial killer

- Town will win if they kill all Mafia members and kill the serial killer

- The serial killer is allowed 1 kill each night; they win if they kill everyone else and are the sole survivor

- Each day phase, every town member must vote for whoever they think should be lynched; this person will die and no longer be a part of the game

- In the event of a tie in the number of votes at the end of dayphase, there will be an extended period of 1 hour for players to change their votes, should they wish to do so; if at the end of the extended period the tie still persists, BOTH players will be lynched; if a player missed the original voting deadline he will NOT be able to cast his vote during the extended period. During the extended voting period only those who were tied on can be voted on.

- You cannot miss two votings in a row; should this happen, you will be immediately removed from the game, and lynch will still commence based on voting.

- The voting deadline is just that, a deadline. Day phase will finish at 0200 GMT, this means that if you vote at 02:00:01 GMT your vote will be excluded. This is irrelevant of whether the game moderators have posted that voting is closed.

- You are NOT allowed to make public the message sent you by the game moderators to tell you your role, either entirely or in part; should this happen you will be removed from the present game and possibly future editions as well. You can share what your information means, but you cannot share exact text.

- Once you're dead, you're dead. Do no talk about the game to still active players, or post in the forum thread. This will be considered an act of influence upon the remaining players, and will get you banned from future games. We all like to have fun, and play by the rules, so please keep that in mind.
