its not forward? it's against the rules of rugby to pass forward under any circumstances, always have to pass to a player behind you. And why would you not pass it away if you're about to get absolutely mauled anyway? The idea that you have to hold onto the ball and get jumped on seems a bit counterintuitive for creating a tactical game/sport surely?

And if someone gets two hands solidly onto another player, he will generally go down. But that doesnt happen as often as the video must have made it look. normally u end up grabbing the fabric of their shirt accidently. There's no padding to grab onto like in american football

And there arent that many 5'4 rugby players. The shorter ones are only there becos a shorter person generally fits that position better. There are plenty of Big guys in rugby as well .

Yes Americans are so tough, that's why they need a big padded glove to catch the ball, and a tank's worth of armour to play rugby

And i think you all seem to have missed the main reason for padding in cricket. Cricket balls are heavier, smaller(more dense), and harder. People have in fact died in professional cricket. So maybe that's why we have padding?
