North Korean football team shamed in six-hour public inquiry over World Cup
North Korea's football team has been shamed in a six-hour public inquisition and the team's coach has been accused of "betraying" the reclusive leader's heir apparent following their failure at the World Cup, according to reports.

The team's coach, Kim Jong-hun, was reportedly forced to become a builder and has been expelled from the Workers' Party of Korea. Photo: REUTERS The entire squad was forced onto a stage at the People's Palace of Culture and subjected to criticism from Pak Myong-chol, the sports minister, as 400 government officials, students and journalists watched.

The players were subjected to a "grand debate" on July 2 because they failed in their "ideological struggle" to succeed in South Africa, Radio Free Asia and South Korean media reported.

The coach was punished for "betraying" Kim Jong-un - one of Supreme Leader Kim Jong-il's sons and heir apparent.

The country, in its first World Cup since 1966, lost all three group games

My larger point is that by denying the value of any system where anybody makes decisions based on some nonviolent system of values, you set the stage for perpetual anarchy. If that's "sad" then the answer is to start demanding some common framework of cooperation between "elites".  If "anything goes" then effective violence will immediately trump nice-nice nonviolent struggle by memos and PR.  That is why Africa is largely not run by argument and "spin".

becasue the idea that we are civilized beyond teenagers toting RPGs is of course, mere ideology.

listos I put my camera on a box with a 10 second timer, clearly superior results!

Dude, absolving the powerful of their crimes is the FIRST "pragmatic compromise".  Why do you think the Five Families lost the reins?  They had few rules...except "thou shalt not whack a boss and live"...guess what happened when Gotti made them eat it? Moral anarchy does not suit any kind of heirarchy.

"Get used to it" in that context, means going back to ambushing people as they come out of church.  And like it or not, you're going to go to church sometime.  The funeral of a child relative killed mysteriously, for instance.

>>Why? Is it simply because the latter doesn't affect the status quo and the former does?     I see.  It's not about principles or ethics or anything for you, is it, Balsz.  For you, it's about always being on the side of the victor.<<

It's the difference between targeted violence to remove oppression once and for all, and "Hulk angry, Hulk smash".

I caught wind of the following transactions which actually occured in Orange County last year.

FUTURE BANKRUPTCY DEBTOR:  I-or rather myself, incorporated- have a vacant lot, I want to make it into a multistory mall.  I need $3,000,000.

FUTURE DEFUNCT BANK:  How will you pay that back?

FBD: When we have built the fairy castle, dozens of rich people will pay my incorporated self to use it.

FDB: What would secure our money?

FBD: You can attach a lien to the vacant lot.

FDB: What's that worth?

FBD: About $300,000 on a good day.

FDB: Whaddya think I am, STUPID? No way are you getting that kinda money--unless you PERSONALLY guarantee the note! Hahaha!

FBD: Oh but--

FDB: But nothing sweetheart!  You think I'm gonna get left holding the bag? YOU guarantee that You, Inc. will pay us back every penny!

FBD: Oh ok. /signs

FDB: Some folks believe in Santa Claus.

FBD: Oh I got three more vacant lots---

FDB: Same procedure, pal. I don't play favorites.  S,H,R,U,D that's me.  Lessee, that's $12 million plus interest...carry the 7...times 12

"So You Think You Can Box" -- amatuers get to spar in the ring before champs, past and present.  Really awful contestants have to spar with the host, Mike Tyson, who will dismiss them brutally in a Cowell-like manner.  In later weeks contestants are thrown off their mettle with changeups of style and content-- muy thai boxing, endless rounds ("ya gotta EARN that bell!") and visits from boxing greats like Tea Ali who suddenly box the contestants bare-knuckle in their street clothes.  The Winner gets a lifetime contract with Don King.
