As much as the past few nights took their toll on the people of Whiterun, their emotional toll had come harder on the Gray-Manes. The Gray-Manes had lost family over the days just as any other house in Whiterun, both in retaliation for their uprising and at the hands of Babette. Moreover, the tide seemed as if it was turning against the Gray-Manes as their numbers began to quickly dwindle.
Still... they knew they mustn't give up. Too many lives had been lost on both hands. The Gray-Manes knew they could never attempt to return to a life of normalcy. Even if they were to surrender right now, the people of Whiterun would probably kill them... like they did so many other Gray-Manes.
That night, Eorlund Gray-Mane took his turn to complete their killing. The steward Proventius Avenicci had become more of a rabble-rouser than ever recently, and had gained favor among the populous, despite being an Imperial. Eorlund knew that, should Proventius gain sufficient favor, their position would be worse than ever. Thus, even if the Gray-Manes were to fall when this was over... Proventius would need to follow suit.
Proventius, a.k.a. Torqez, left himself unguarded that night. Normally hidden in the well-guarded Dragonsreach, he took that night to stay with his daughter, who lived in the back of her store, well beyond reach of the Whiterun patrols.
Eorlund snuck into the store without problem. Standing over a sleeping Proventius, Eorlund drew his sword. Proventius continued to sleep, unawakened by the sound of the blade. He only awoke as Eorlund's blade was thrust into his torso, giving Proventius enough time to see his assailant, then pass away.

It is now DAY phase. Players have until 2:00 GMT to vote!
As did everyone else in the town!
As night became day in Whiterun, the town's normal commerce and activities were at a standstill. Whiterun had suffered so much death by this time, and although the town had made great strides in catching many of the conspirators, the killings seemed relentless. In comparison to the unending death which plagued Whiterun, normal market trading seemed meaningless. Most of the townspeople spent their day at home, either quietly mourning the loss of their friends or relatives or comforting those who had lost people close to them. By this time, the devastation which stretched throughout Whiterun had reached most every home. However, vengeance was not off the table this day. The Whiterun rumormills continued within homes, as families discussed possible suspects amongst themselves.
Meanwhile, xara, a.k.a. Babette, was quietly touring the town. No guards... no stores... Whiterun was a ghost town, in the middle of the day. However, Babette had little place else to be, knowing nobody in Whiterun. Moreover, with very few people alone in their homes, this was no time to continue her killing spree. Unable to hide in the shadows of market crowds or empty homes that night, Babette had little choice but to wait the day out alone, outside in the sun...
As the day began reach its end, a pair of guards began preparation for the following night shift. When they left their homes, the two guards saw Babette. These guards had seen Babette before. However, Babette was... different... this time. As Babette spent that day outside, symptoms of her life-long condition began to show. Her eyes radiated with a yellow glow. Her skin had become discolored and pale... and began to burn, despite the cold weather at the time.
The guards knew they were looking for a vampire within the town from the signs of prior deaths. Although none had ever seen a vampire up close, they knew vampires suffered greatly in the sun. The signs were obvious. There was little time for hesitation.
A guard shouted "VAMPIRE!" In seconds, the townspeople immediately left their homes and ran outside, swords and axes in hand. Babette tried to flee, but the angry town descended on her almost instantly. From that moment, Babette was at the town's mercy. Guards were not even able to organize an execution as the angry townspeople stabbed and cut Babette within the mob. Within minutes, what was once Babette was reduced to dozens of barely recognizable body parts.
The townspeople celebrated as they burned the body. The death of the vampire that had killed so many people. Gray-Mane and Battle-Born alike... had lost family members at the hands of the vampire, without ever knowing the justification for the murders. Although the conflict in Whiterun would not end, the vampire's death brought some peace to the city.
The Gray-Manes quietly breathed a sigh of relief. Over the past days, they had wondered amongst themselves if, with the infiltration of their town by a vampire, their plot against the Jarl may destroy the town. As much as the Gray-Manes hated the Battle-Born clan and the Empire, Whiterun was their home. The thought that a third party could use their war to destroy the city quietly pained the Gray-Manes in the early conflict. This was one matter on which the Gray-Manes and Battle-Born felt some comraderie. Now, with the vampire dead, they had some reassurance of Whtierun's future. Whether Gray-Mane or Battle-Born were victorious, they knew at least... Whiterun would survive.
Xara, the Dark Brotherhood Associate, is no more.

Family with the most planets, who had to farm their way to the top? Or a fam that finished 7th in size, but always war bigger fams and fought hard and had a fun round. "Winning" is accomplishing ones own goals, whatever they may be.
This is a sport, not an art class, Arby! ![]()
Thorald Gray-Mane rushed from the jail. He was visibly shaken after having spent the whole night in the dungeon and from the blade having been found. He knew that the town must be in an uproar by now and he did not wish to face them unprepared. He went straight to Vignar Gray-Mane and informed him of what had happened. Vignar was not at all thrilled to have him coming into his home and possibly damn him as well. Thorald feeling abandoned quickly left, he knew that their cause was more important than his life but Vignar was family. Family stuck together, did it not?
He got back to his house and started to put on his armor and weapons. He thought to himself, if he was going to die this day, he would go down fighting. He would not let them have the satisfaction of killing him without cutting down a few of them. Just as he was finishing getting his armor on the guards burst into the house and swarmed him. He tried reaching for his sword but found it to be useless as they were on top of him before he had any chance of it. He screamed angrily at them, wanting so badly to hurt; to kill them.
By the time the guards pulled Thorald from his home, an angry crowd had already gathered outside his front door. They began throwing rocks at him while he was drug towards the chopping block. They would have his head this day. He felt a blow to the side of his head as one of the guards smashed him with the butt of his sword.
Everything went somewhat dark and he was having trouble seeing straight now. Finally, he arrived at the chopping block only to find the Jarl standing there angrily over him. Blood dripping down the side of his face he carefully observed his surroundings. One guard stood to his left, axe in hand. A second guard to Thorald's right held his left foot on Thorald's back, keeping Thoraldin place on the chopping block.
The crowd watched as the axeman delivered the final blow. However, Thorald didn't give him the satisfaction. Thorald quickly pulled himself back, bringing the axe carving itself firmly into the ground. The guard holding Thorald in place quickly began to lose balance at the quick movement. Thorald rolled into the guard's right leg, causing him to fall to the ground.
As the axeman attempted to retrieve his axe, Thorald quickly grabbed a knife from the guard now lying on the ground. Thorald quickly cut his hand bindings, then held the knife to the guard's throat. The town witnesses, Jarl Balgruuf among them, gazed in shock at the swift turn of events as Thorald managed to incapacitate two guards, both without killing them.
Thorald's eyes gazed directly at the Jarl. "Stop hiding behind your guards, Balgruuf. It's you I want, not them! Grab a sword and face me like a true Nord!"
"Agreed. This war is between you and me. Let the guard go, and you shall have your war."
Jarl Balgruuf reached for his own sword. Thorald released the axeman from his grasp, then drew a sword from the guardsman just now getting on his feet. The townspeople quickly backed away, forming a circle around the Jarl and Thorald. Thorald wiped the blood from his face; smiling, and charged the Jarl. The battle was intense, both men were met equal when it came to sword play but Thorald was not above fighting dirty any more. If his life was to be forfeit this day he would do whatever it took to ensure the Jarl died with him. Suddenly, Thorald kicked some dirt into the Jarl

Oh, and slight edit: Roles distributed at 1 AM GMT.
Okay, I'm putting an executive order in and saying if the other guys don't join Tri by 1 AM GMT (the beginning of night phase), we're going with who's around and distributing roles (re-randomizing, of course).
Except Xavier. He can't use the name Xavier.
WAY too long. X(
